NOT HD!!!!!
This is a VERY good but SD TV.. Samsung makes 6 slim fit models and this is the only one that is NOT HD.. the TXS2782 is the HD version

Warped image due to defective tubes or yokes on tubes.
I have now owned this TV for 2.5 years. Fortunately I bought an extended warranty for it, because I am now having to have the tube replaced for the *second* time! The problem, in a nutshell, is that the screen image is warped on both right and left sides, giving the appearance of a magnetic warping, though I don't know what the actual cause is. I have now owned this TV for 2.5 years. Fortunately I bought an extended warranty for it, because I am now having to have the tube replaced for the *second* time! As far as I'm concerned, the only good thing about this TV is the fact that it is narrower (i.e., less deep) than comparable models. I wish another company would make something like it, but of better quality.

I bought this TV locally about 18 months ago and the retailer had it on sale for $299.00 IIRC. My previous bedroom TV had died, and I was looking for a quick fix. This set fit the bill 110% at that time. The set is definitely slimmer in profile and that's helped by the overall design. The picture is excellent as is the sound. If I had to complain about anything... I guess I wish it had a built-in digital tuner. Not a HD tuner, just a tuner that would accommodate the switchover from analog. But right now, it's hooked up with a comcast cable box so it's a moot point until I cancel the service and see what I get. With the price of digital tuner TVs dropping every day, I almost consider this set a fill-in. But once again... it is a very nice TV with a super picture.

I checked with the spec and Sumsung website, this is just a SDTV without HDMI input. This is definitely not a HDTV.

Consumer Reports rates this CRT very highly but I received it twice, damaged during shipping (and gave up). I don't think it is packed very well. I shopped locally and they can't beat amazon's price ($40 differential plus you have to pay extra if you want help delivering the 100 lb tv). I'm now considering saving up and spending 2x the money for an LCD HD TV.
