Only Thing That Beats the Price is the Quality., November 30, 2001
This review is from: Samsung TXL2791 27" DynaFlat TV (Electronics)
With 800 lines of resolution and a flat screen, this 27 inch TV from Samsung is easily the leader of its pack. For those who dont know very much about the technical specs of TVs in this price range, most average roughly 600 lines of resolution. 800 is almost unheard of. The higher the resolution on a set, the better the clarity and crispness of it's picture. I can guarantee you that you will not find another non-HDTV 27 inch flat screen with better resolution.
Most people who dish out the extra bucks for a flat screen television also end up buying a nice home theater system, since the audio on televisions has never been known to output awe-inspiring results. A good flat screen television usually has 10 watts of audio power - sufficient, but like I stated, nothing spectacular. The Samsung TXL2791 has double that, with 20 watts. Still not home theater quality, but at twice as good as the other models in its pricerange, it is definately worth noting for those who do not wish to invest the extra few hundred dollars to improve the sound quality.
With 4 A/v Inputs (One being on the side of the set, towards the front), 1 S-video, and 1 component input, you are virtually assured an ample amount of connections for whatever devices you need to hookup to it.
The remote is simple, yet sufficient. Its a universal remote, so you are able to control your VCR as well.
Overall, I am completely satisfied with this television. (...)

Great Picture for Analog, December 27, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Samsung TXL2791 27" DynaFlat TV (Electronics)
I went in thinking I was going to buy the Sony 27" flat screen, but when the two were next to each other, the picture quality was the same. And this one was about $40 cheaper.
The sound impressed me as well when I figured out how to switch it to the "surround" sound. Hooking up several different accesories was no problem either. Also it was not as deep as some of it's competitors.
The only complaint I have is that the universal remote isn't as functional as I would have hoped. It operates my cable box but all I can do is change the channel; can't pull up any menus. But that's minor, I would highly reccomend this if your looking to a 27" TV.

This TV rocks!!!!, March 29, 2002
This review is from: Samsung TXL2791 27" DynaFlat TV (Electronics)
All I have to say is this, Samsung is the definite underdog of the analog flat screen market. They are not only up on the price battle, but the list of features this baby has, is much better than any other flat screen out on the market for this price. I would have never expected to have a flat screen 27" in my bedroom for [the cost] two years ago, but today, and with Samsung you can have it! The only complaint I have is that I wish it was available at more places other than at Best Buy or on the net. It's pretty hard to find, but I was impressed with how much the box was intact after the shipment. I now have the home theater status I've been so desiring. On top of that, I now have two Samsung TV's beside each other. My original 20" and my new 27" DynaFlat and I couldn't be more happier!
