5.0 out of 5 stars The best standard TV you can buy
With the HDTV revolution taking off, I wasn't sure if the next TV I purchase would be HDTV or standard. But after realizing that a top quality 27" HDTV would cost $600 to $700, I decided to buy a top quality standard 27". I have used Samsung products before, and I have always been more than satified with the results. The same can be said for the TXR2735. Picture is...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, lousy picture
I bought this TV from Best buy 2 days ago as a birthday gift for my husband. We looked at several in this price range and it came down to Samsung vs. Insignia. having been happy with Samsung in the past and not knowing anything about the off brand, we chose this one. The picture on the display model looked darker compared to the other Tv's at the store but the salesman...

5.0 out of 5 stars The best standard TV you can buy, December 21, 2005
This review is from: Samsung TXR2735 27" Dynaflat Analog TV (Electronics)
With the HDTV revolution taking off, I wasn't sure if the next TV I purchase would be HDTV or standard. But after realizing that a top quality 27" HDTV would cost $600 to $700, I decided to buy a top quality standard 27". I have used Samsung products before, and I have always been more than satified with the results. The same can be said for the TXR2735. Picture is sharp, without becoming pixilated. While color is not totally saturated, you can turn off the digital filters to give the picture more colors. Sound is great. I wasn't expecting sound to be so crystal clear with this set. I'm also a gamer, and the TV has more than met my gaming needs. The visual design of the TV also makes it a handsome addition to the room. All in all, if you're not ready for HDTV, then this is the standard set you should keep in mind.

I bought this TV 7 months ago and love it. Now Im leaving for Europe and wonder if I can take it with me considering the NTSC/PAL issue. Supposedly..all new TVs have built in,double systems but it doesnt say anything about it in the manual. If anyone can confirm this, please post it here. Thanks!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality, January 29, 2007

I first saw this TV at our local Best Buy. It came down to a comparison between a Sony and this TV. This TV though it appeared that the picture was darker was significantly less sharp then the sony, which was way oversharp and exhibited strong edge noise. When I set it up and adjusted the picture, I knew I made the right decisions, colors where right on and very natural and the internal tuner is excellent. 4:3 SD looks better on this TV then on my Toshiba HD after it is upconverted. The speakers are a tad tinny and with a slight de-empasis in the vocal range. All in all an excellent buy and highly recomended.

I just exchanged a bottom-end HDTV for this model, and I couldn't be happier. Picture quality on the Samsung is substantially better than the HD with a standard definition source, and it is easily better to watch than the extremely low-end LCDs out there. Weight is reasonable for a CRT; I had no trouble lifting it from my car to inside and onto its stand. The sound is excellent, the best I have heard coming directly from a TV, and the remote is simple and easy to figure out, a welcome break from some of the over-featured and expensive "universal" remotes out there. It also looks classy with its black front and modern lines.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superduper teevee, August 26, 2005
This review is from: Samsung TXR2735 27" Dynaflat Analog TV (Electronics)
I am not knowing why the last commenter said such rediculous and barbaric comments about this super teevee. Perhaps he should check his rabbit ears because my colour is very good and picture quality very clear. I am certainly very satisfied with my purchase and plan to buy several more tee vees for members of my family, who also are preferred customers at bestbuy.

If there are any people who do not believe me, I am telling the truth. I am new to this country and am pleased to meet your aquaintenace. Thank you very much for this opportunity to share my views with you. Nandu Hirab

I bought this TV from Best buy 2 days ago as a birthday gift for my husband. We looked at several in this price range and it came down to Samsung vs. Insignia. having been happy with Samsung in the past and not knowing anything about the off brand, we chose this one. The picture on the display model looked darker compared to the other Tv's at the store but the salesman assued us that it was due to a weak, over-split cable signal. Now we got it home and the picture is still dark, or too bright. I like the ability to adjust the picture at first , until i found myself doing it every time I changed the channel. The other strange thing is that the menu from our satellite cable, and other text or graphics are all curved on the flat screen, as if they are still on a regular tv screen. I do not know if this is common to all flat screen tv's but I find it hard to imagine that they all do this. I have adjusted everything possible and the picture still does not look right. I think this ones going back to the store. I do really like the great sound options and quality, if only the picture were the same quality.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing picture quality, July 16, 2005

This review is from: Samsung TXR2735 27" Dynaflat Analog TV (Electronics)
I owned a Philips 25PS40 that I bought in 2001, before the remote control receiver on the base unit conked out on me (refused to receive a signal from any remote control).

I bought this unit based on previewing a floor unit at my local Best Buy. However, after I brought it home, the picture quality was very disappointing. It looked very grainy, colors were washed out, and dark compared to my old Philips. Trying to adjust the contrast and brightness controls did not help.

After living with this model for a week, I think I'm going to return it for a more dependable Sony KV-27FS120, which is in the same price range and screen size.
