It isn't the design of this LCD that earns merit, although it is a rather timeless looking item and will look smart in any situation. It's the feature set, and there is certainly far more function over form than meets the casual eye!
Pros: - Can be set to auto detect the exact input source resolution and display the image without any stretching. This is great if you play games that might need 1280 x 1024 or 1680 x 1050. Your treasured vintage game collection will still look splendid! - Has a great software tool that will set the correct color / contrast / brightness balance. Make sure you run MagicBright after installation - the image is stellar once you have this set. - Low power consumption - do your bit for Gaia ;-) - The memory resident tools do not task the CPU. - Tack sharp display with almost non-existant light bleed at the edges - Games look superb! - No dead pixels - Comfortable viewing size - I find larger displays somewhat taxing on the eyes - Has a great tool that can divide your display into various logical units - a bit mike having multiple displays - very cool as this makes apps snap into the regions just like extra displays - Amazing price - 2ms + 20,000:1 contrast ratio + Samsung quality + auto resolution detect + much more! Cons: - No height adjustment - but by no means a show-stopper when you bear in mind the spec. - Tilt only tilts away, not towards you. The assumption is that you will be looking down at the screen up to horizontal, which is ergonomically incorrect. The user should have the option to view at 90 degrees or above to avoid neck strain. I resolved this by buying a sturdy stand so I can have the mid-screen point at eye level ;-) - No frame color options - just translucent burgundy, which looks blackish most of the time in low light conditions. - Software installation is confusing. It recommends that you download the latest software. When you click the link, it's very unclear what you need to do. I couldn't see a option for the T220, so I just installed what was on the disk and everything ran fine. You must run the software installer using Internet Explorer, otherwise you need to manually run the install exe from the CD.

The Samsung T-220 is a fantastic monitor, not only in design and curb-appeal but in performance. No matter what you use it for, the screen will be sharp and crystal clear for text, images, photos and background. I'm using the T-220 for a CCTV system with a DVR and the images from all 5 camera's are perfectly stunning. If your wondering then why I gave the T-220 4 stars instead of 5? It's because for some unknown reason Samsung decided not to make these T-220 monitor's VESA compliant (no mounting holes in rear of monitor) wall mountable. When I contacted Samsung their tech-rep admitted the T-220 were their newest monitor addition and could not understand why the T-220's were not designed to be wall mountable? This is the only flaw I could find, but it could be a major one if you want the monitor mounted on a wall. I had to return one monitor for this specific reason. If your not mounting your monitor to a wall, I would recommend the Samsung T220 to all, it's just a great product.

BAD Backlight Bleed Problem,
This review is from: Samsung Touch Of Color T220 22-inch LCD Monitor (Electronics)
Purchased this monitor at Costco because of great reviews, and it looked great on display in the store. When I plugged it in at home it was immediately noticeable there was white light leaking onto the screen from the top & bottom edges. Tried to ignore it but after watching enough full-screen video it was driving me CRAZY! I took it back to Costco (where they treated me like I was nuts) & exchanged it for another one, which had the same problem but WORSE! On this one, light was bleeding in from all 4 sides. I called Samsung (where they assured me it was an unusual problem) and through them I exchanged it for a newer model that works fine. Glad their customer service is helpful & willing to set up the exchange but I wish it wouldn't have been necessary in the first place...

Use Monitor Calibration with Macs,
By
This review is from: Samsung Touch Of Color T220 22-inch LCD Monitor (Electronics)
This is an upgrade from a tiny 15" dell monitor that I used as a second display with an Intel Macbook Pro. I simply took it out of the box and plugged it right in. The laptop detected it at once and configured if for the max resolution of the monitor.
The first impression is that it is BRIGHT, in fact for my tastes too bright. I found that there were presets for different usage configurations (I am guessing that they are really gamma settings) but since I use this with tools like Photoshop etc. I instead went through Apple's monitor calibration (monitor control panel, color sub-panel)which gave me something that matches my macbook display and seems to be a lot truer. Hint: if you wear glasses, try setting some of the settings with your glasses off (the gray apple/striped background adjustments specifically), and go through configuration a couple of times. You don't have to use the "advanced" mode. Back to the monitor: it doesn't disappoint at all, the high contrast makes working with tools like Final Cut a pleasure, controls pop and are easier to see. I do wish the stand had height adjustment; it doesn't look like it supports a VESA mount so you are stuck with the stand. I am not a fan of the glossy plastic around the bezel since I do get some reflection, but it is not severe enough a problem to take it back. This monitor is good enough that I think I will use it as my primary display with my macbook pro -- more resolution and better contrast, easier on the eyes.

this screen is very pretty, but unfortunately if there is any dark on the screen within 2 inches of all sides (maybe 3inches) you see a horrible white screen bleed, it really makes enjoying dark movies like *The Dark Knight very difficult, also makes player darker games like Call of duty world at war less enjoyable, and more difficult to play.
i would not by this monitor again, and i would not suggest it to anyone, i gave it 3 stars because it is very elegantly designed and if your running a lot of bright programs on your screen it looks great.

Looks Great! But...,

This review is from: Samsung Touch Of Color T220 22-inch LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I bought this monitor about 9 months ago. Absolutely loved it, but it got to where it woundn't wake up when I moved my mouse. I had to hit the power button a few times to get it to work again. Samsung has a list of tests they want the consumer to do before calling them. This involves trying different cables and computors to narrow down the problem. After about a week of hitting the power button it stopped working all together. I had to send it to NJ to get it repaired. When I got it back it worked fine but the Bezel was broken. After callin Samsung they have decided that UPS has to be called because they delivered it, althou there is no damage to the box it was shipped in. I am very dissapointed in the way Samsung has handled this and I am still waiting for it to be repaired or replaced.

Gorgeous display, cheap base,
This review is from: Samsung Touch Of Color T220 22-inch LCD Monitor (Electronics)
Overall the monitor is very good. It looks great and the display is beautiful. The setup is easy, though it does require a software driver installation on some machines to get the full resolution.
Only gripe is that the monitor base is flimsy and tends to flex a lot, leading to the monitor wobbling side-to-side if you desk moves at all. I had to jury-rig some supports under the corners of the monitor because it would wobble just from someone walking by (wood floors at home, not office building). Beyond that, though, it's an excellent monitor.

It's not easy getting a good resolution, so I wished I'd bought a simpler monitor.
This stopped working after a few weeks. Returning the item to Samsung for repair was very easy. It was returned to me without any cables, so I now have a unusable monitor, waiting for them to return cables. Unfortunately, the third party they get to repair these aren't honest, and have said it was returned without cables. Now I have to buy my own.

good monitor and is still one of the best looking monitors out there.,

This review is from: Samsung Touch Of Color T220 22-inch LCD Monitor (Electronics)
So happen to stumble upon this monitor again and let me say. I absolutely love this monitor, had it for 2 years already but still loving it. specs were top notch when i got it probably not anymore but i truly believe this is still one of the best looking monitors out there. With its black glossy finish and subtle red lighting on the bottom just absolutely gorgeous.Don't believe me check out the latest Samsung monitors their designs are practically copies of this one accept without the sexy red lighting.
Whatever it lacks in specs it really makes up for with looks but thats not to say it doesn't have good features with easy to use software and other benefits like low power consumptions not to mention a 3 year warranty, you can tell that the manufacturer has but some thought and attention to detail into this product. Manufacturer's specs: Resolution: 1,680x1,050 Pixel-response rate: 2ms Contrast ratio: 1000:1 / 20000:1 (dynamic) Connectivity: DVI, VGA HDCP compliant? Yes Included video cables? DVI, VGA Specs still pack a punch, so its no surprise images looks good not matter what you do (games, movies etc...) Would highly recommend this product especially at this kind of price.

Great monitor. My only complaints have to do with the stand. There's no height adjustment and it shakes anytime my desk shakes.
