Excellent phone - not ready for US yet.,

This phone is beautiful, light weight, small, and loaded with features! It is actaully quite nice and incredible. So, instead of talking about what it has (that's all listed above anyway), I will talk about what it doesn't have.We have this phone unlocked for Cingular service. I am testing it for our corporate environment hoping to replace our current PDA's with it (Blackberry, as well as competing windows mobile devices). First problem I ran into....it is tri-band, which is typically good, except in this case. It has two bands from the UK, and one from the states. Since typical US devices (tri-band devices) will have the two US bands, and one UK band, we dont get the coverage we would normally get with a US device. So, this is a big reason why I can't use this phone. My current Cingular phone has much better service coverage. The second reason is corporate email. We cannot download the Global Address List to this phone, so our users would have to type out the address every time, or add every single user to their contacts, defeating the purpose of a global address list. The third reason for this is lack of customizable features for email settings. You dont have too much you can change with email notifications, calendar layout, and a few other things. SO, overall, this phone/PDA is wonderful! If you are looking for a REALLY nice phone (that is super small and packed with features!), with MSN messenger access and access to your personal email account, this is probably a great choice for you. If you are currently used to Sprint service, this uses the same band, so you will have similiar coverage. This is an excellent phone with email functionality, not an excellent email device with phone functionality (which is what I needed).

I am one of the few lucky people in the US who has a Samsung SGH-i320 phone. I actually received it at an industry conference I attended, and I immediately popped the SIM out of my T-Mobile MDA and into the SGH-i320. It's a sweet little phone! The display is excellent - bright, clear, and crisp with brilliant colors. The user interface, which has been less than desirable on older Windows Mobile Smartphone devices, is well done. The speaker on this phone is quite loud and it makes a decent speakerphone. The keyboard is easy to use and makes it simple to use the SGH-i320 as a device for mail. On the negative side, this doesn't yet support "push email", although you can easily set it up for POP, IMAP and Exchange accounts on a "pull" basis. I set mine up to go out and check for mail every 15 minutes. The SGH-i320 comes with two battery packs and that's good because it really chews up the batteries. One other negative is that the buttons near the 5-way pad occasionally act up and you can find yourself inadvertently performing functions you didn't want to! All in all, I would probably get a T-Mobile Dash before I'd buy one of these. Since I got mine for free, however, I'm going to use it for quite a while!

I test this unlocked smartphone with GSM network under Telcel in Mexico and Works without any problem, just make sure you configure it property, since default setting wont work. The good: WM5 has a lot of app available for the phone, and Java performance is acceptable for 2D gaming and apps, pretty easy to use, no need for read a manual. The bad: Battery life is not good, but it comes with dual battery so, its ok and JAVA3D wont work. Notice: If you want to install unsigned apps, like SNES or NES emus, you must setup the phone to accept unsigned (unsigned = not from official provider) apps.

I live in Mexico and couldn't wait for Samsung to release the BlackJack in my country so; I got this one.Mexican GSM network is 1900 Mhz so it worked as soon as I inserted my SIM. Reception is very good and it was kind of easy to setup (pull e-mail, multimedia messages, Internet access, etc.) with a little help from my mobile company's tech support center. If you are a Mac guy (like me) you would need to buy extra software to sync it with iCal, Contacts or Entourage (not sure if that's the real name of the Office for Mac PIM) but it really worth it. You can even sync your iTunes lists, podcasts and iPhoto albumbs. It comes with a viewer for .xls, .doc or .pdf files which works fine but you can not edit files on the go (if you actually need to). Even thought it allows you to view attached files you received by mail or downloaded from the Internet. Keyboard is really small but you can get used to it within hours. It is my first phone with a full keyboard, so I took me longer to get used to push a different key for any letter and to the QWERTY arrangement but now I think I write messages quite faster. It comes with two batteries and a charger where you can leave one battery while you use the other. Battery life is short but it's enough for a typical day even when you perform Bluetooth sync, talk for about 45 minutes and listen music for 2 or 3 hours on the same day. I have been using it heavily for 15 days and never got a low battery alert message yet. What else can I say, I like it, it's a good phone, it's slim and it's very good looking.

Its very light and thin , very easy to use .I drop off my treo because I had trouble syncronizing my Outlook 3.000 contact often . Now , with this widows based PDA , everything is much easier . The only problem is the lack of accessories for this phone . Congratulations for Samasung .
