This is what you get when you try to design a machine that washes without water. Never got the clothes clean the entire 9 months we owned it before it broke. Just stopped working and got the PE error code. Called Samsung who first referred us to an "out of warranty" repair facility. Checked the reviews of those guys and found that they were commonly reviewed as crooks. Called Samsung back to ask why we were referred to an out of warranty service when our machine was thankfully still under warranty. That ate up almost a week. Then they sent us to another service company who took a week to make it out. Couldn't fix it on the first visit. Service tech had never seen a "PE" error code. Had to order parts. Came out again with the parts. Didn't fix it. Had to order more parts. One of the parts was on back order with no estimated fulfillment date. But a Samsung is not a lemon until the third unsuccessful repair attempt. Oh, and there's a week between each service visit all the while we have to trek to a laundromat. After three unsuccessful service attempts Samsung wanted to know if we wanted a replacement. No, we'd like our money back, please. That has to be submitted to some sort of committee, which takes about a week. Then we finally got them to agree to refund our money, but we have to dispose of their piece of junk machine on our own dime. Save yourself a lot of trouble and buy something....anything else.

I bought this machine with high hopes that it would clean my clothes better than the old non-High Efficiency machines. I read many reviews and took my time deciding on a new washer. I specifically chose the top loader (HE) style because I had read so many reviews listing the endless leak problems with the front loader style. After purchasing this machine I watched it "wash" through an entire cycle to see what it was doing to my clothes (it has a glass top so you can see it do its "magic"). It has no agitator to allow for extra room. It has instead a small type of flat but somewhat raised agitator that helps twist and ball your clothes up for you (not really washing them) and since you cannot control the water level (it decides for you) since we mere mortals are incapable of selecting the proper water level for our clothes. I initially thought "ooh nice, it's going to know exactly how much water I need and fill it to that level", and the video the salesman showed me made it look that way too. Well, I believe the machine actually decides water level by the weight of the clothes that go in. I say this because in frustration I watched my clothes sit above the waterline as it was being twisted into a ball of solid laundry knots and only sprayed with water over the top of them. I was upset, so I stopped the machine and completely restarted it and to my surprise after the clothes had been completely saturated by the first cycle and weighted down, when restarted, the machine believed there were more clothes, so it filled the tub to the top with water. Now my clothes were able to move and twist and rub against the other clothes in order to clean, but that's not high efficiency in my opinion.Read more ›

We loved the machine when we first got it! Large capacity, fairly quiet, etc. but noticed it becomes unbalanced quite often. Well, two days after the one year warranty was up, the entire internal tub separated! We called a repairman and he said, it was beyond repair and we would need a new washer. He said it would cost too much to repair the unit we had. This is the first and last time we are buying a Samsung washer. We bought it because of all it's glowing reviews. Little did we know that reliability would be an issue. So if you are considering buying a HE top loading washing machine, scratch off this particular model. Save yourself the hassle.

When we bought this washer it had no reviews. If you are in the market for a washer, do not buy this! Our repair is scheduled for Next Saturday! But I may ask what the chances are for an exchange since I am still paying on it and out of the 9 months we have owned it, 3 months it has slowly quit working! After 20 hours to wash ONE load of laundry -- and it STILL was Not Done - we called for our service. It just says "DC" and you adjust the clothes and it ADDS time back on - then DC's again. We are on our THIRD load of laundry for the weekend because that is all we have gotten through. It seems to only want two jeans and two shirts or it goes off balance again. There is no option to skip to spin only. This is why we replaced my washer (that was only 7 years old) but this thing is new! We may not even have clean clothes by tomorrow. I have a Samsung Fridge that has kicked butt for 10 years now - but I will never ever buy another Samsung washer. We should have gone with the normal brands of Kenmore, Whirlpool, or Maytag. Very frustrated.
