terrible construction and support,
By
This review is from: Samsung X460-41S 14.1-Inch Laptop (Intel 2.0 GB Processor, 3 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Dirive) (Personal Computers)
I would not recommend this laptop to ANYONE!!! It's funny how people have given it rave reviews after only having it for a month...I felt the same way when I received it. It's light and very sexy. However, I have owned this product for exactly a year now and conclude that it is very flimsy construction. The plastic is flexible and the LCD casing cracks very easily from NORMAL usage. I am very protective about my laptops and carry it in a hardcase, but this laptop cracked where I would place my thumb to open the laptop. Samsung products are not built to last...especially for laptops.
Samsung support is also USELESS!!! The worst compared to gateway, dell, and HP. I hate it. Even if samsung makes other great products, I will never buy them because of poor support. I had to talk to a manager to get my laptop fixed because they don't cover 'physical damage'. But because the laptop is so flimsy, they decided to eventually cover it since it cracked from normal usage. Look online for reviews...other people have had similar plastic/LCD cracking issues because of flimsy construction.

Samsung 14 inch laptop,

This is a great laptop. Light weight, no gliches I'v encountered so far, user friendly, great graphics. All in all, very happy with this product. I bought the 13.3 inch Sony Vaio before this, but I had some problems with it, and I just didn't feel like it was worth the $1800 I spent. This laptop is much more for your money!

Problem of design?,

Hi,
I was really fond of my laptop, but always thought that the lid was very fragile and now merely a week ago, opening the laptop its LCD cracked. I always handled the laptop with extreme precaution, because it is my work support and always carried it in a Samsonite Laptop Case, reknown for good quality. I instantly contacted the SAMSUNG CUSTOMERS CENTER but they (still) keep tellling me that the warranty does not cover physical damage - and I keep insisting that I think the problem was caused due to fault of design of the lid. I am still fighting to get it fixed by warranty, but they are giving me a hard time so far.....in case you have the same problem, please try to find me in skype as kerstin.k21 - I think it would be helpful to be able to show similar cases (better, even positively resolved cases). I really would appreciate your help. Also, if there are more X460 users having problems like scratches due to the keyboard frame, a mismatch between the frame and the screen itself (a case I found reported in Germany) or a broken LCD, please contact me.
