Digital Audio Player with Built-In USB
The easy to use U3 works right out of the box with no need for cables, cords or docks and no need to install any programs. Simply slide a button and a slim USB connector will pop out. You may then plug it into any PC USB port and drag and drop your music files. While connected, the battery is charged, allowing up to 15 hours of playtime on a single charge. The U3 plays MP3, WMA, and WMA-DRM10 formats. The 4-line OLED display shows ID3 tag information such as Artist and Song, and combined with the quick touch navigation means you can serve up the song you want quickly.

FM Radio and Voice Recording
The U3 features an FM radio, utilizing the headphones as antenna. You can also record your own voice, speeches, lectures, and other outside sounds with your mp3 player, and can even adjust the quality of the recording by selecting a different bit rate.

Convenient File Transfer
The U3 also functions as a flash drive. You can use it to transfer files from one computer or USB device to another. With a 2GB capacity, the U3 has plenty of room to store your music while still accommodating all of your file transfer needs.

Note: This YP - U3 will NOT work as a USB Drive. it used to work, then Samsung & Microsoft Teamed up to update the firmwire in this device, it can NOT be used as a usb drive now. and it ONLY work on windows XP (not even 2000), no linux, no mac.

And you will need Admin privilege to install the driver. (so if you want to transfer file between computer, this thing won't work).

I am IT engineer so I did a lot research on this and managed to update the firm ware. But it is such a hassle. I won't buy this thing if I know in advance it won't work as a usb drive.

I repeat, It will NOT work as a usual usb drive. you will have to install drivers on the computer. The description in Amazon in not accurate.

if you have a firm ware early than 1.07, it might work. most of them are 1.11 now.

Hope this will save you some money and time.

You better be computer savy if you buy this MP3 player or you may not get it to work on your computer. It is not a plug and play device, at least not on my laptop (Acer, Windows XP SP2) The computer would not recognize the device, no drivers were available on the Samsung website and an email to customer service had me try things I had already tried on my own with no success. A friend and I spent several hours using Google and finally found a fix. From what I read on the internet I'm not alone, there are a lot of customers who purchased the same model who were having some of the same problems. Now that it works with my computer and I'm able to transfer music it's a nice, compact little unit. The sound seems to be just fine and it's easy to use. Just be prepared to do some research if it doesn't work on your computer.

This is a sharp little device (I have it in black), it's easy to set up and use and 2gb is a lot of space to fill.

Several people have made note of the "sensitive touch-pad", and this WOULD be a real concern, but Samsung has either fixed it, or the previous reviewers didn't notice that there is a "hold" switch that disables the touch-pad. This is a great feature, because without that switch the touch-pad would be really annoying. And, even though I have large fingers I can still easily maneuver the volume and search controls.

The sound is excellent. Even as I'm writing this review I'm hearing things in a song I've never heard before...maybe it's just that I'm hearing it through headphones...but the music sounds great.

My only knock on this product is that the USB plug appears to be an accident waiting to happen. Once it "pops" out, there's no cover or guard to protect it.
