i love this phone, I've had it for about 3 months now, and it's really great. The speed of the internet on it is wonderful, and as a matter of fact i'm using it right now to connect to the internet on my PC. the sound quality is awesome through the built in stereo speakers, and the call quality is great too. this is one great product. Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Samsung a707 SYNC Blue Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
I've had this phone for about five months now, and thus far:

-Awesome display, bright, high-res
-Fast (for a phone) internet connection
-Compared to most other phones, this has a great camera
-Nice, sturdy buttons

Cons:
-Relatively slim, but still pretty heavy and bulky
-Ring volume is fine if you're alone in your room, but ambient noise tends to drown it out pretty quickly
-BIGGEST CON and the main reason I'm getting a new phone: The battery life started out okay (maybe three days on a charge), but in the past month has completely DIED. If the phone isn't charged every single night, it won't last (I give it 36 hours, maximum, for a single charge). My dad has the exact same phone, and the same thing happened to his.

5.0 out of 5 stars an awesome phone!, September 10, 2007

This review is from: Samsung a707 SYNC Blue Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
The Samsung A707 SYNC Blue Phone is the right phone for all ages! What I really love about it is its awesome camera, beautiful resolution, loud sound quality, and many convenient buttons that serve as shortcuts. However, it does get scratched easily so I suggest having a case to protect your phone.

All in all, the Samsung is a phone made to please!

4.0 out of 5 stars SO far--SO good, March 20, 2007
So, far I am happy with this phone. Though it did arrive three weeks after purchasing it from Amazon. Even after I pressed two day delivery.
I guess they had to wait to get the ok from Cingular. The phone works well, has long battery life, good camera for a phone (2MP), and a MP3 player. It is so easy to download songs from your computer. All you need is a USB cable, sold separately. You can hear the music with or without headphones. I also bought a 512 memory card to hold music and photos. I bought the plastic snap-on case with the gems on it to protect it from scratching and getting fingerprints. It is a fingerprint magnet. I have only had it for about three weeks, but so far, so good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good phone, a few issues, June 8, 2009
This review is from: Samsung a707 SYNC Blue Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
I've had two of these, the first being black and the second being blue. I like this phone but I'm afraid there are a few too many issues with it for me to consider a 3rd one. Here are the two biggest problems I've encountered:

1) Durability. I dropped the first one a lot and it actually lasted quite a while and only started to malfunction gradually, making the break predictable. I was super careful with the second, only dropped it a couple times and just a few days ago it snapped in half. Waiting for a new Slvr to come. Neither phone held a charge very well, at most held one for a couple days. Otherwise, it would just die within 24 hrs.

If you're going to get this phone, be extra careful with it and expect problems with the battery life/charger. Otherwise, the other problems are rather trivial and the phone's menu setup and everything is nice.

3.0 out of 5 stars Overall design is good, but they missed a few details, July 31, 2008
This review is from: Samsung a707 SYNC Blue Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
Overall the design and functionality of the A707 is good. 4 issues I have with it:
1. It frequently refuses to switch to a non-carrier owned tower. I know this because I am on ATT and I have verizon tower within 200 years of my house. On an ATT tower I get one bar. On verizon's - 5 bars. But I have to reboot the phone to get it to change towers.
2. The memory card slot requires too much insertion force, which eventually causes the latch mechanism to fail. When this happens you can kiss using a micro SD card goodbye.
3.The battery compartment has too large of tolerances, letting the battery wiggle enough to cause the phone to cut off.
4. Both front and main LCD's still use glass substrate instead of plastic, which means if you every sit on the wrong way ... Crack and your buying a new phone.

Call quality and features are good. Durability - not so much.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good phone, June 2, 2008
This review is from: Samsung a707 SYNC Blue Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
I have had this phone for a year. lots of memory, create 30 second videos and lots of good size photos. camera works great outside, inside its ok for a cell phone cam. i use the internet, and i can do all the basics pretty much. text pics/videos, get pic/video texts, check fantsy teams on yahoo. good memory. i can check myspace, emails and look up pictures and very basic info with google. i can get maps if i need to. the browser is very basic, but good enough for me. only two probs with phone: sound could be louder (i dont hear very well anyway), and after 1 year of normal wear and tear, the phone closes too easily. (although my husband has same phone in black and his closes perfectly fine. but he hardly touches his phone.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good basic phone, September 23, 2007
This review is from: Samsung a707 SYNC Blue Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
Overall, I'm happy that I bought this phone. The reception is good in most places, and it uses 3G technology. (I'm not sure if that helps with voice quality, or only faster data - but this phone has it).

I've never been on the cutting edge of technology when it comes to cell phones. This doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of the Iphone or any of the "smartphones" out there. I just wanted to make phone calls. I've been pretty happy with this phone. This is my first phone with bluetooth, and I use it all the time in the car. In my state, it's illegal to hold a cell phone while driving, so it's great to have the wireless bluetooth earpiece on my ear to receive calls in the car. The camera is okay - nothing special. I don't use the mp3 player. I haven't figured out how to connect the phone to the computer to put music on my phone, and frankly I'm not willing to put in the time to figure it out.

Bottom line: If you want a cheap ($0.01 with $25 rebate when I bought it) phone just to use as a phone (+bluetooth), it's great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible reception, March 8, 2008
The Motorola Krzr K1 is great. In addition to its duties as a phone, I use it to listen to podcasts and audio books via my Jabra bluetooth headset. The Cingular service, however, is terrible. On my first and second bills, I was charged extra fees and it took several calls and me looking up the service plan details and guiding the phone rep to them (on their own Web site) before they corrected the issue. Though the billing is ok now, I have to ask people to repeat themselves constantly because the beginning and ends of sentences are frequently truncated. It seems like they are doing something like using overly aggressive voice compression to save network bandwidth or something. Whatever they are doing, it really makes the call quality stink. I plan on going back to TMobile or Sprint as soon as my contract is up.
