5.0 out of 5 stars The T239 DOES vibrate
I'm looking at the Samsung T239 manual right now (pg. 60) and it certainly DOES vibrate. The other reviewer is referring only to the alarm. And while dedicated web and mail keys may seem unnecessary on a prepaid phone, where you wouldn't expect a lot of Internet access, this phone is also used with other types of T-Mobile plans.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty nice for a basic phone
I had bought this phone a few months ago to replace my old nokia phone. I wasn't looking for something extravagant, just something basic. This phone pretty much suited my needs.
Video and camera are all pretty much standard; nothing over the top. Some of the photos I shot came out a bit fuzzy but as I mentioned, I only wanted a basic phone. I didn't mind if the...

One other thing. The product description has an error. While text messages on T-Moble's monthly plans are $0.20 to send and receive, on the prepaid plans they are $.10 to send and $.05 to receive. Go figure.

It's better and has more future then the older model sidekicks *The only smart phone I've ever owned* Battery life is great, looks good, plays games, you could use your own music for ringtones *Take that Sidekick* camera is great *and it could Zoom unlike another phone I used* You could change the plan on this phone at any time, free web browser *only could look at some random stuff, sports, and news* the list goes on and on... GREAT PRE-PAID PHONE!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good little phone, October 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It's too bad that this phone is no longer manufactured, because it's a nice, durable little slider phone. Samsung usually makes great phones, and this one is no exception. The sound quality is very good, the screen is bright, and the ringing speaker is clear and crisp. For $60 if you have T-Mobile, you really can't beat it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty nice for a basic phone, July 20, 2010
This review is from: Samsung t239 Prepaid Phone, Charcoal (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I didn't mind if the photos were not crystal-clear. However, the photos were not so blurry where you couldn't make out what was in the photo.
Volume is my only complaint I have about this phone. If I'm in a very noisy place, a restaurant, city, or wherever, and I'm trying to listen to someone, even when I have the volume on the highest setting, sometimes it's still very hard to hear what the other person says. This gets very frustrating.
All in all, I'm content with this samsung phone. People who are looking for a phone with a lot of extra features that some of the newer phones come with will not find much with this phone. Nevertheless, if you're looking for only a basic phone, this one will do the trick.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent cell phone....really, August 18, 2010
This phone is actually decent to be inexpensive. The battery life is long. I think I just charged it once a week and that was it.
I have dropped it countless times and it has been alright. What makes it nice is that it is still kinda in style with the slider thing going on.
The only thing that I found sort of puzzling was the alarm system. With the older Samsung I had onced owned, I was able to set my alarm and actually turn off the phone. It would then turn itself on when the alarm would go off. That was really cool because I wasn't wasting the battery power while I slept. But with the SGH-T239, the feature for self alarm startup is not present. So when I set the alarm the phone has to be on all night wasting my battery life. Good thing it holds a good charge. I give it 3 stars for it's appearance, solid capabilities, and price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous phone - works like a charm, June 4, 2010
This review is from: Samsung t239 Prepaid Phone, Charcoal (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I wanted a phone--not an alarm clock or a camera or anything fancy--just a phone and it certainly fits the bill. It is easy to use, has a long battery life, and is easily one of the best cell phones I have ever purchased. Plus, the T-Mobile prepaid cell phone plan is saving me a fortune. I should have done this years ago.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent phone for the price, May 26, 2010
This review is from: Samsung t239 Prepaid Phone, Charcoal (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I bought this phone (unlocked) to try while traveling rural areas and it gets good reception in areas that my previous phone (razor) would not. The battery life is really great and the sound quality is also good. No complaints here. If you need a phone that works, this one does it.

3.0 out of 5 stars company gets a 4 star, phone gets a 2, January 8, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Samsung t239 Prepaid Phone, Charcoal (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
bought this phone expecting it to be a T-mobile phone and it was just an unlocked phone. Due to a mix-up with shippers orders I originally didn't get the phone and after waiting 3 weeks I finally contacted the company who did some research and adv me there was a mixup and they didn't get the phones they ordered (don't quite understand how that happened) so they offered to send me out the next model up from this phone or just cancel the order. I agreed to have the next model up sent out but was completely disappointed to learn it was an unlocked phone not a T-mobile phone as advertised. I will give the company props though for being so quick to respond and helpful when I first contacted them about the missing phone. Tried to get this unlocked phone to work with t-mobile's extra servicecs (like the fave 5 circle) but no such luck. I am sure it is a good basic phone, but I was expecting a T-mobile phone so overall am disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Read this review, its honest!, March 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Samsung t239 Prepaid Phone, Charcoal (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
phone was a nice upgrade from my razor, Phone does everything it claimes to do, However the quality is horrible, speaker is to loud and so is the ear piece, I find that the settings are difficult to adjust sometimes, and when i recieve txt's sometimes i dont hear it at all, but that could just be my settings,

overall good phone, lacks alot of features new phones come with, even basic prepaid phones, but good phone. i suggest you look around though, i replaced this phone a month after buying it after switching from t-mobile to another company and got a basic smart phone with gps for free for only 50 bucks, cheaper lol.

2.0 out of 5 stars Decent phone...until it died, February 21, 2011
This review is from: Samsung t239 Prepaid Phone, Charcoal (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I bought this in July 2010, and it worked fine for almost three months. Then slowly started deteriorating for no apparent cause (I hadn't dropped it or anything). First the 8 key started repeating, then the 2 key wouldn't work at all, then the D-pad started getting flaky, then eventually the power button only worked to answer a call and to turn the phone on, not to end a call or turn the phone off. Shortly thereafter the keypad died entirely.
