T-Mobile Service
The T639 operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 networks and can handle high-speed data connectivity via T-Mobile's EDGE network (which stands for "Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution"). It's also one of T-Mobile's first handsets to use its new 3G UMTS/WCDMA network (1700 MHz), allowing you to download ringtones and games, send photos and videos to online albums, access high-speed color Internet sites, and email quickly while on the go. Where UMTS isn't available, the handset will automatically connect to T-Mobile's EDGE network.

It's compatible with T-Mobile's myFaves service, which allows you to call up to five of your most common contacts--on any network, even landlines--without using any of your minutes. Learn more about myFaves from T-Mobile.

Download cool new games, HiFi Ringers (real songs by today's hottest artists), MegaTones (instrumental versions of songs), and wallpapers quickly, as well as stay connected via the Web, instant messaging, and email.

Phone Features
Sleekly styled with a modern vibe, the T639 feels comfortable in the hand at just 3.2 ounces. The internal 2.1-inch screen is vibrant with support for 262K colors and a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. It's supplemented by a vertically oriented blue monochrome external screen, which displays current time and date, battery life, and signal strength. The phone's camera lens is also house on the front of the clamshell. And you can easily switch colors on the front with the four interchangeable faceplates.

The T639 comes with four interchangeable faceplates in navy, red, olive, and aqua.
The T639 has a 1.3-megapixel imager for still photos, and it includes a 4x digital zoom to help you get closer to the action. Capture video clips and save them on a microSD memory card. You can capture up to CIF resolution (352 x 288 pixels) in MP4 and 3GP formats.

This phone provides Bluetooth version 1.2 wireless connectivity, and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and dial-up networking. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones.

1.0 out of 5 stars Battery sucks., June 9, 2009
By Ms. V. Lee (Diamond Bar, CA USA.) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This Samsung t6339 battery really sucks. When I first got the phone, I didn't have to charge it every single day. After a few weeks of using it , I have to charge the battery once every 23hours. It didn't even last for a day! I checked the manual, it said the "standby" time is 8days. My standby time is only 23hours. >_<

4.0 out of 5 stars I like this phone, April 26, 2009
By Geoffrey K. Ho (Hawaii, USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I got this phone about a year ago. I must say that I do like it. The only downside is the battery. I have to charge it daily. When I first got it, it was good to go for several days without charging. I will be traveling to test its multiband & 3g capability in Thailand and Japan and I will let you know.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of Junk, March 12, 2009
By MoneyMagnet2004 (Los Angeles, California) - See all my reviews
I had a motorola slvr before this and the samsung was my first flip phone. I bought it because i was itching for a new phone after owning the slvr for 2 or 3 years and because the samsung had interchangeable covers which were very pretty.

I soon discovered that the battery life was next to nil. It needed virtually daily charging.

I also had a lot of dropped calls all along the mulholland corridor and dead spots on my street and in my home but i didn't realize it was the phone's fault until I changed to a different phone, which had no such problems. (A friend got a Samsung at the same time and he also reported similar dead spots.)

Then, after a few months, the right-side hinge broke. T-mobile rep said it may have been from carrying it in my jeans pocket and sitting down with the phone still in my pocket. Apparently, that puts too much pressure on the cheap plastic parts that are not designed to withstand normal usage. Eventually, despite crazy glue (and no more carrying in my pocket), the hinge fell apart beyond repair and I had to get a new phone less than a year after I got it.

I replaced it with the blackberry curve, which i have had for 3 weeks and am very happy with so far.

IN SHORT, DO NOT GET THIS PHONE unless you enjoy carrying a useless (but pretty) piece of metal.
