Best Phone I've Owned so Far!,
By Norcal Cyclist (Sunnyvale, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Samsung t819 Phone, Bronze (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone)
Great phone very simple and easy to use. Packed with many features and it's free with T-Mobile contract. Excellent music player. I added a 2gb micro sd and I use it with my bluetooth stereo headset during my bike commute to work and during my workouts. Now I don't need to bring my mp3 player and I won't miss any calls because I can pick up a phone call with my headset. This phone got some bad review because it was considered to be boring and an entry level basic phone. I guess nowadays if your phone doesn't cost over $400 and doesn't do everything and anything it's considered "boring and basic". So if you are like me and don't fall into the must have the latest and the greatest crowd this would be good phone to look into.

Nice and Simple,

I don't text. I looked at phones that all seemed geared toward avid texters and people who may be talking on the phone all the time. That's not me. All I needed was a phone that I could easily carry and make an occasional phone call on.
That's the Samsung t819. I haven't had any problem with reception or call quality. That's all good. So far, I've had no problems at all. It has an okay camera that can record video, too. Also, a helpful feature is that when the phone is in closed position, it automatically key-locks so that you don't accidentally turn it on when it's in your pocket. The lock then disengages as soon as you slide the phone open. If you're looking for a phone that is simple, yet effective, this one's for you.

This review is from: Samsung t819 Phone, Bronze (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone)
this phone is so awesome, i dont know what the other people are talking about getting the 'pink' off because i had no problems switching the color to grey. i had the 629 and got this phone to replace it and have not had 1 problem with it. very easy to use and picture is very clear. in my opinion samsung phones last a long time and are VERY reliable. i only have to charge it once every 4 or 5 days! battery lasts a long time. once again samsung has a satisfied customer!!!!

This phone does happen to be my 1st phone and am more than satisfied with it. The only problem that i find with it is that sometimes when i talk to somebody i can hear them perfectly clearly one minute and the next i dont hear anything at all or if i do i hear the person speaking very unclearly. i loved the phone though it has a camera and it can record video, it has a good music player and i am really satisfied with it. I would reccommend it to any friend

TMobile Myfaves issue...,
By Cap'n Howdy (Burbank, CA USA) - See all my reviews

Good phone, looks great, small enough to fit in my pocket, nice features, BUT....
1. This may not apply to most, but while I carry my phone everywhere I don't like to have it on all the time. I don't like how the phone can be turned on in the "locked" or closed position and then cannot be turned off in the same position. This means I can accidently turn the phone on in my pocket and then it will remain on. Again, this may be exactly what some folks are looking for, but not me. 2. More importantly, there is a known bug with this phone (this according to a t-mobile rep who probably regrets mentioning it) that has to do with My Faves! Apparently, some handsets do not refresh your myfaves, which means that one day they will be there and not the next. I've been wrestling with this problem for several weeks now and now have a new handset being sent to me. I only mention this to help some avoid the hoops I had to jump through to get someone admit there was a problem. I will try and update my review when I get the new handset. If #2 problem can be fixed, I will keep using this phone. If not...?

The phone is loud and clear...,

I ordered one because it was free with my renewal.
After reading the reviews, some commented on the poor quality of sound. Not on my phone, all is loud and clear. It's simple and slick, just what I wanted and I'm discovering lots of convenient features on the phone book that me previous phone did not have.

I've had this phone for about 6 months. While it's fairly good in terms of sound quality and has a good battery life, the are some issues:
-Many calls are dropped when when I'm not moving and have a signal -The camera quality is aweful, you barely see your image unless you take the picture in broad daylight -The slider is way too sensitive, I accidently hang up all the time!

Decent phone but disappointing in areas,
This review is from: Samsung t819 Phone, Bronze (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone)
I upgraded for free with this phone, a nice phone to get for free. However, I have some major issues with it. The music player cannot be used unless you figure out certain software issues, unlike other cell phone music players which are easier to figure out. Every time I get a new text message, the "unread text message" icon stays lit until I manually delete the text message from my inbox, rather irritating, because you are never for sure if you have any new messages until you delete the old ones. I have not seen a possible way to fix this. The buttons are rather difficult to text with. The ringtones are GOSH AWFUL! I don't like the camera settings, everytime you take a picture it entices you as the user to send the picture to your album, so if you just want to save a picture to your phone, the only way to do what without getting charged is with the red end call button. This is because the options screen does not have any save to phone option, just send to wherever (which is never free)I.E. (picture message, or send to "My Album". In other words, its inconvenient to take a picture just to have it on your phone, and nowhere else. Those are the cons. The Pros include, great battery life, good picture quality, (for a cell phone). Clear reception, (a very important element) nice slider action, and a really cool color. This is a good phone, but I feel that in this day and age, these features should be more user friendly than they are. Thanks, have a great day.

Nice Phone,

I like this phone. It looks stylish, is small but not too small to handle, and the bronze finish is appealing. There are all the usual functions people expect in a phone these days (most of which I personally never use). The only real criticism I'd have of this phone is the reception quality. Now that might not be the fault of the phone. It could just be the areas I frequent the most have poor reception. Overall though this phone is pretty good.

Ok phone nice features but buggy,

Serious Issues - Suggestion choose another manufacture. The last two Samsung phones I purchased have been buggy. Bluetooth seems to be a big problem for Samsung - especially if you have a newer car with bluetooth. Both Samsung and T-Mobile will put you through hell before they will replace them. t629 when on a call using bluetooth will drop the call you are on and you cannot "accept" the 2nd call. t-819 is also buggy in bluetooth mode. The volume increases and decreases during conversation making a call frustratingly difficult. Additionally, the t-819 40-50% of the time will show connected but caller is unable to hear the other party. Bought a Sony Erricson and it is perfect in every way. For the record Lexus duplicated the problem with Samsung and determined it IS the Samsung phone. Their test phones (not Samsung) worked perfectly with the vehicle bluetooth. Come on folks it is 2008 bluetooth technology has been around for more than a decade.
