Like other reviewers, mine arrived damaged due to inadequate packaging. The Sportsman's Guide took care of it, though and their price can't be beat. The bench is very stable and well-made, but buy locally if you need it fast.

As can be seen from the photos I uploaded, my unit arrived smashed up. I would not even have accepted the box if I was home when UPS dropped it off as it was obvious from the box that whatever was inside had to be damaged. I went ahead and opened the box and sure enough it was smashed up. There is no protection on the sides at all except for the flimsy cardboard box. The manufacturer needs to use a sturdier box designed to hold this heavy item and use styrofoam around the edges to protect the wood. This was shipped to me directly from the manufacturer and the box looks like it was drug behind the UPS truck and thrown off a roof. At another site this items got 5 stars from many buyers. I didn't bother to unfold mine as I didn't know if it was bent and if I could fold it back up again to put it back in the box. I know this is a 5 star item but I gave it only 3 here because of the cheap flimsy box. At the other site a few people received them damaged too and had to wait for replacement parts from the manufacturer.

Look at the review by L. Smith, and you will know how my box looked. Fortunately, the damage is minor with a scratch completely across both the table top and the seat, and chips of paint missing. I tell you, I believe this item had been returned a couple of times and still sold as new by Amazon LLC. My box was open and obviously had been re-taped several times, but it was open all the way around when I found it on my drive way (carport). Just as Amazon hoped, I will keep it anyway, but beware..
