Product Description

Flavor: Espresso Roast

ESPRESSO ROAST

A very rich, full-bodied coffee that is perfect for either regular coffee or espresso!

Do you take your coffee black...or green?

K-cup brewing systems – so convenient, but so wasteful. All that plastic going into a landfill – over 10 billion cups a year – enough to circle the earth thirteen times. We decided that we had to be more environmentally responsible. So, to begin with, we developed a pod that used 35% less plastic. Then, we began developing biodegradable components. We have been working for years on this – and are 97% there. Currently the OneCup packaging and the coffee are all 100% biodegradable. The lid and the mesh filter, are the only components not biodegradable – and we are working on that! All combined, the OneCup is 97% biodegradable. Now you can enjoy single serve coffees with a better conscience.

A truly superior coffee

Great coffee has to start with great coffee beans. Now, everyone says this, but it is really true with us. We source only the very best quality Arabica coffee beans, grown high in the mountains and hand-picked for perfect ripeness. We are very, very picky (pardon the pun) – we have the most demanding standards in the business. When we have found the best beans, we then we roast them to perfection – to their fullest flavor point – using our proprietary and top-secret roasting system. Then, we grind them for optimum flavor, just before packaging into our revolutionary OneCup single serve pods. And finally, our stringent Quality Assurance procedures ensure that the coffee you receive is as consistent as it is excellent. One of our criteria for the OneCup was simple - that it had to taste better than the other single-serve pods out there. Our OneCup filter is designed specially to ensure you will experience the maximum flavor extraction from each cup you brew.

What about the coffee farmers?

To many coffee roasters, green bean procurement means a phone call to a broker in New York. But by going straight to source, we are able find better coffee – while at the same time, changing lives for the better. You see, coffee farming is like betting your life savings on something, without knowing the odds, the outcome, or the payback. If there is a glut, prices will crash, and you could be out of business. There could be a storm at the wrong moment, which knocks all of the flowers off of the trees or buries the farm in mud. Or a fungus could wipe out your trees – and your livelihood – for years to come. Our farmers are like family to us, and we want them to do well. We guarantee our farmers a profit – and a comfortable life. We also help them with improved farming methods, environmentally responsible practices, crop yield increases, and producing better coffee. But suppose we had a great idea for a farmer to try – and it didn’t work out, and hurt his crop? Not good. So, we try our ideas out on our own farms. We have over 3,000 acres from where we try to develop better tasting coffee. We also try other ideas which can lead to increased yields, more natural production methods, and more consistent, higher quality milling and processing methods.

Grown for good

Your purchase is touching the lives of, literally, hundreds of thousands of people in the farming communities around the world. Our Grown for good programs have built thousands of housing units, and dozens of schools, kitchens, medical / dental facilities, water treatment plants, etc. We have educational programs, hot meal programs, sports and recreational programs, adult education programs, nutrition programs, environmental responsibility programs. And because of all these improvements in education, housing, health, and sanitary conditions, every person, at every farm we work with, enjoys an improved quality of life.

Who is behind it all?

Founded more than 34 years ago, the Rogers Family Company is comprised of Jon and Barbara Rogers, their three sons, their daughter, and two daughters-in-law, along with over 250 employees. Many of our employees have been with us for 10, 20, even 30 years and more, and some even have sons and daughters here now! Our approach to farming, milling, roasting, packaging and selling coffee is different than any other company. Our goals are simple: Produce the best coffee possible. Offer it at a reasonable price. Improve the lives of all of those around us. And be respective of our environment. To us, our employees, our farmers, and our customers are all family. And we treat them as such.

I LOVE SF Bay coffees. I discovered them here on Amazon and tried a box of the Fog Chaser and the French Roast and was hooked. They are clearly my favorite cups of all, so much so that I have a bi-monthly subscription to both Fog Chaser and French Roast.

When I saw there was an espresso roast, I immediately thought of the Timothy's Rainforest Espresso k cup and ordered a box of these to try. I must say, I was a bit disappointed. I'm a strong coffee fan and the word espresso to me indicates strong, but this is a lighter roast than the Fog Chaser and French Roast. It was worth it to try a box but I won't buy it again.

I am hoping the with the popularity of these SF cups they will make some of the flavored coffees on their website into these cups.

This is the fourth of these coffees from San Francisco Bay that we have tried, and this is their best yet. The others were just a little strong and/or bitter for our liking. Now I am hoping they become available in the 80 count boxes!!

This k-cup expresso is very high quality. The old standby Green Mountain Extra Bold Expresso Blend is no longer available, and Timothy's Rainforest Expresso K-cups break apart physically. You will like this SF brand!

I'm a coffee fuss budget! I like strong coffee - but not coffee that tastes like it's been on the burner all day.. I've tried dozens of different K-cups and this is the one I keep coming back to! Plus I like the fact that it's not filling our landfills with empty plastic cups!

I decided to write this review after reading the others that said it was weak and after sampling the product at "medium" and "large" size I've come to a few conclusions.

One, using the large size it definitely doesn't have the same strength as a shot of espresso would. I'd use the small setting for that, but then that makes sense because espresso shots are small.

Two, I made a very good homemade cappuccino from the "medium" setting. Maybe it wasn't quite as roasted toasty tasting as at an coffee shop but then you are asking a k-cup and a k-cup brewer to do the job of a very expensive espresso maker.

Finally and most importantly, the coffee in the k-cup may taste weak because what you are actually tasting is lack of bitterness due to the quality of coffee and its freshness. My husband roasts our own coffee, I bought these k-cups to be able to make one cup when he's not here and to be able to make easy lattes, cappuccinos etc. Since, we switched to roasting our own, I've learned that almost all commercially sold coffee is bitter because its stale. Stale darkly roasted coffee is going to have a particularly strong flavor that if you like it, rock on, but know what you are tasting. If you have never had freshly roasted coffee you should try it, its like the difference between day old bread and fresh out of the oven.

Coffee is strong but subtle. Like it better than Starbucks brand. Pods are cheaper than the Folgers I usually buy. I will reorder.

Thought it would be a darker roast, but it was a little weak for my taste. I do like other coffe from San Francisco Bay.

This is the most realistic cup of normally brewed coffee you can make for a K Cup. I love the fact there is no plastic so you don't get that plastic taste either. Can't beat San Francisco Bay coffee for the Kuerig!
