5.0 out of 5 stars Best Rush
This is the best Rush and racing game for the N64. It has great graphics, and the music is actully pretty good. The stunt levels(and the stunts) are awsome. It has more tracks than any of the 2 other Rushes. The battle mode is very fun.The cars don't change much over 50 years. They still have GT and Formula 1 cars. It has the most options of any other game. If you change...

If you change the frame(from light to standard) it lowers the speed and acceleration and the control and strength are higher. It sure does beat the Crusin games. This game by far is the best in it's very over populated genre,Racing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awessome racing game, August 5, 2000
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: San Francisco Rush 2049 (Game Cartridge)
The sequel to the two popular racing games San Fransico Rush 1 and 2. S.F 2049 obviously plays in a future S.F in the year 2049. I played the arcade version which is already out and it was in my opinion the best racing yet. With realistic racing tracks like "the rock" a future Alcatraz and others, the game is flawless with sophisticated a sort of 3 demensional graphics. In the game you compete in very modern car against the computer or friends which is another great thing about the game. The crashes are awesome the speed is great and the whole game is awesome. Anybody who likes racing is bound to love San Francisco Rush 2049. The game is quiete hard, but exept that its for people of all ages, and it's bound to be the best racing ever for N64.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Rush game I have played., October 17, 2000
By
This review is from: San Francisco Rush 2049 (Game Cartridge)
I have played every Rush game. And I think this is the best. The only things that could have made it better are if they had damage like Rush 2 did and if they had stunt points in race mode. Other than that this is an exellent game. I love that there are 4 stunt tracks and 8 battle arenas. I love to get a few of my friends over and kick their butts in battle mode. If you are tinking of getting a racing game for the N64 or the Dreamcast this is the game you should get.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-own for gamers with friends, July 14, 2001
This review is from: San Francisco Rush 2049 (Game Cartridge)
I'm not familiar with the Rush franchise, but I love Rush 2049 all the same. It's three games in one, how can you not find something to like? Well, I, for one, was not impressed with the race mode, as it is very difficult to turn your car just right. And since the race mode is the primary source of entertainment for a single player.... it goes without saying. But grab a friend or three and you've got yourself one of the best party games alive. The Stunt Mode is very entertaining; anything you do to flip your vehicle is accounted for points. And the Battle Mode? Big guns, fast cars, eight clever arenas; it surpasses Vigalante 8's efforts. -- Also, the more you play the multi-player modes, the more points you earn for yourself, and the more courses you open up. You do the math. You'll never find another game like this on the Nintendo 64. Don't pass it up. It's not all about racing anymore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frantic Futuristic Fun!, January 24, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: San Francisco Rush 2049 (Game Cartridge)
THIS GAME ROCKS! I love this game-ever since I bought it. This game must have about a million pros-in fact, here is my chart.

Pros:

1. Sweet Graphics
2. Best sound for any console
3. Major awsome tracks
4. Huje jumps- for massive air (I'm talkin' hundreds of feet)
5. Many awsomley detailed futuristic cars
6. Best Gameplay for any game
7. So fun, you'll play it 24/7

Cons:

1. needs memory card in order to save

Even though there is one con-doesn't meen anything! The multiplayer mode is very excellent too! You get multiplayer:

1. Stunt mode
2. Battle
3. Single race
4. practice

and more!

Stunt:

In stunt mode, you get four tracks to do corkscrews, endoes, twists turns, flips-every trick in the world! The wing feature also allows you to glide through the air-and do major awsome stunts easier! Sweet! (available in 1player mode, also)

Battle:

In battle mode, you get 8 awsome futuristic arenas with sweet weapons:

1. CHAINGUN-Everyone's favorite, just shoot this automatic weapon and blow your opponent's head off!

2. RIFLE-This is your default weapon. It is bad, but you could give him some damage.

3. ROCKET LAUNCHER-Yeah. Shoots 20-50 rockets that could do quite some damage. Explosion sounds are awsome.

4. TORPEDO LAUNCHER-One of the best weapons. Only 3, but once fired, they follow the opponent-like, if he turns, it turns. One hit for this baby and your opponent is roadkill.

5. FASER-THINGY-I don't know what this thing is-either a plasma gun or a technical green bullet thingy or something else. It shoots green liquid-I don't know. Just play the game and you'll see.

6. MINE LAYER-Lays mines-one hit and kablamo!

7. BLAST SHOCKWAVE GUN-This thing, when you pick it up, goes on top of your car. When you fire it, it makes a shockwave (air too) that travels and knocks over or kills any car within a 20 foot radius. Pretty awsome. Cool.

8. NUCLEAR RAMMER-This weapon is hard to use-but could also be a shield and exterminates an opponent with one hit. It is like a mini-sattelite that fits in the front of your car. When you ram into someone with it, it blows them up. Also, if someone is in front of you and fires a torpedo or rocket or something, the rammer absorbs the stinking hit! (But only if in front or the direction pointed in)

I think I covered all of the weapons and here are the powers you pick up in battle mode.

WRENCH-Gives you maximum health; gives all your health back

SHIELD-Shields you for about three to five minutes

INVISIBILITY-Makes you invisible for two minutes

That's the powerups.

Now, what is good about single races is that you can customize the track-make it backwords, mirror it, increse wind, and increase amount of fog.

This game is awsome-and you must buy it. I recomend it for everyone. IT'S AWSOME! BUY IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars So much FUN..., September 23, 2000

This game rocks! It has only six racing tracks (it's obviously no longer really a racer), but get this this: there are 4 STUNT TRACKS!!! Your car also has wings atached, which come during jumps, letting you 'fly' your vehicle somewhat. The battle mode is loads of fun as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars FUN, BUT IT NEEDS A TUNE-UP 7.5 OUT OF 10, December 28, 2007
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: San Francisco Rush 2049 (Game Cartridge)
Rush 2049 is a decent racing game for the Nintendo 64 that while it has been worn by age, it's still fun to play. The tracks are still fun to race around and still look good despite the age of the game. The cars still look great and are still a lot of fun to drive. Multiplayer is still great and the stunt arenas are still fun. There is one issue that mars this game; it's the fact that the game starts to feel mundane after a period of time, and it won't exactly make you forget Mario Kart 64. Unfortunately, with a presence like Mario Kart on the N64, chances are this game has been long-forgotten and in some ways it is kind of a forgotten gem that is likely collecting dust in people's N64 collections instead of being played like it should.

5.0 out of 5 stars This game is AWESOME!!, May 21, 2001

Man, this game is awesome! I strongly suggest getting it, mostly because the speed of this game is really great, esp. compared to most of the other racing games on N64. Driving around in SanFransisco is hilly, and therefore results in some fun jumps during the game. I also really like how the cars come with wings (it makes the game much more fun), and all the many shortcuts in the levels because I love finding them. However, the races are not the only great parts of the game, take my word for it, Stunt is really, really, really fun. How many times do u fly in a car? The battle is also fun, but I would have to say that games like Descrution Derby get my vote there. Oh, and the music really rules. Advice: GET THE GAME!

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional, April 17, 2001

This game is and will most definetly always be the best game ever made for N64. By the looks of it, Nintendo is going to do away with the N64 soon after they release their next system, which shouldn't be too long. So Rush 2049 probably won't have much competition. Ok, now to the reasons why its the best game. I'm going to compare Rush 2049 to another game that came out just around the same time, Cruis'n Exotica, which was another *good* game. If I was asked to play both of these games, I would have said Cruis'n Exotica had come out at least 2 years before Rush 2049, which tells you something about the amazing graphics Rush 2049 has. Rush 2049 definetly has the best graphics out of any N64 game and I think it even ranks up there close to some Dreamcast games. The cars are awesome. You have more to chose from and more options to put on your car. For exapmle you can chose the motor, tires, up to three different colors (depends on what car you have), rims, suspension, and frame. You can also earn more add-ons. Like a lighter frame, nicer tires, better transmission. The tracks are mind-blowing, space age (almost) type tracks that have plenty of shortcuts for you to figure out and beat the competition. This game is extremely addictive, no matter if your in the Single Race mode, Circuit mode, or Stunt mode, you'll find hours of replay value in this game. There are only three games that I have stayed up until the very *early* hours of the morning (like 3 or 4 am) playing. This is one of them. The other two are Goldeneye 007, for N64, and Half-Life, for the PC. Now if Rush 2049 ranks up there with Half-Life, then that tells you one thing about this game-It is absolutely great, and you have to get it.
