John Howard's latest release San Francisco Sessions 2 is one of the best things I have heard out of San Francisco recently. It is a perfect house music CD. I keep dancing all the way through and then can't wait to start it all over again! Thanks again John

Highest Quality House Music,

Not everyone understands house music ..... Do you remember these words from the "House Music" - Amador? This CD is superb for the people who do understand house music philosophy. John Howard has compiled a unique album, only high level sound, the true sound of the real house, with a touch of deep jazzy grooves. Perfect at night, for making love or for party, very good while driving a car. Absolute must have cd for quality house lovers.

Anyone who likes good house will totally dig this CD. Its less soulful, less smooth than Farina's Sessions, but more influenced by tribal and latin beats. In other words this is PHAT, or DOPE, or TIGHT... Because it goes like MMMDIT, MMMDITDIT, MMMDIT, MMMDITDITMMM.... ohh yeah baby, even if you're anit-dance music you can dig on this

Best in Deep House,

DJ John Howard serves us up with volume 2 containing deep tribal tracks and some smooth deep house beats. Once you pop this CD in you get a very smoothe mix throughout the whole CD. Starting very tribal and very smoothly and gracefully working into some great deep house tracks! Never lagging and constantly adding new flavor as the minutes flow by. Overall a great successor to Mark's classic.

San Francisco-based OM records has issued another great house complilation with this mix from John Howard. He keeps the loose SF house sound alive with his great song selection and his smooth mixing. Any house enthusiast should add this CD to their collection.

A more moving, if less compelling house sequel,
This review is from: San Francisco Sessions 2 (Audio CD)
John Howard had a tough act to follow, as the second release in the San Francisco Sessions, following Mark Farina's sterling set. Thankfully he comes through with a strong collection of latin-tinged numbers and smooth grooves that maintains the flavor of this series, while aiming harder for the dancefloor. The set opens with "Heart of Africa", with strong percussion and a free sax riding on top, which blends smoothly into the gentle tinkling of "Play On" which whips up a nice disco groove. This groove continues through the next two instrumentals, until it hits the blaring trumpets and breakdown of "Latiname," probably the most disagreeable song in the set. Thankfully, it slowly build with the next track "Autobreakdown" with the beautiful song "This is the Way" mixed halfway into it. It continues with the silky voice proclaiming "the future is you" before diving into the other track I'm not partial to, the male diva wailing of "Totally." Finally, the set starts to wind down with the Plastic Avenger's "Moondrops" that mixes well into 1999 hit machine Underworld's "Cups" and closes with a bit of sass by Groove Collective. John Howard's compelling set makes this series 2 for 2 so far, taking you on a ride with Latin stylings, disco fun, and a smooth comedown that makes this disc a recommended pick-up.

Good CD overall.....,

......a little too disco-ish for my tastes. In my opinion the one done by Mark Farina is superior , but even that CD the material is not something that I reach for out of my CD wallet every so often. This a good , but not great CD put together with skill , but out of the 250 + progressive/trance/space house/acid jazz/electro/drum and bass CD's I own , it rarely gets much spin.

House at it's best!,

This CD definitely lives up to Mark Farina's Vol. 1, and that's saying a lot. John Howard has given it his all on this album and it's well worth it. But it now!
