Depends on what you are looking for....
I was looking for more information on mining activity and the technology of the time. Rather than these things, the book is more focused on the region and the impact that mining had on it and the people that came ( and went...), e.g., the rapid appearance and disappearance of mining camps and towns. So, as noted, it depends on what you are looking for. The book does provide a framework and chronology of the the mining driven development of a unique area of the country.
