4.0 out of 5 stars PRESSURE MAKES DIAMONDS, February 9, 2007
SAN QUINN
THE ROCK: PRESSURE MAKES DIAMONDS

1.FRISCO STAND UP-this is a great opening track, SEAN T's pulsating horn driven instrumental is amazing. San Quinn and YA' BOY kill this track with some verses full of venom. This was the perfect choice for the opening song, the album is off to nice start.4.5/5

2.HELL YEAH!-next up is the bouncy single from the album, the E-A-SKI produced song was a great choice for the single. ALLEN ANTHONY sounds great on the hook, his vocals create a nice catchy chorus for the masses. Quinn sounds great over Ski's production, and you know Ski sounds nice over his own creation with his verse.5/5

3.PLANET FILLMOE-next up is the MAXWELL SMART produced "PLANET FILLMOE", Smart's production on this track is great, the horns on this track are great. Quinn sounds nice over this track as does SEFF THA GAFFA. Over all this is another solid track.4.5/5

4.GET LOW-this is more of an up tempo beat here on this song, MISTA ROYCE created a nice club type track for this song. The only problem with this song is that at some points Quinn sounds a little out of place. Other then that this is another good track.3.5/5

5.LOOK WHAT I'VE DONE FOR THEM-this by far is the best track on the album, this has got to be a classic record I don't care what any body says. The production on this track by COZMO is superb, truly a great instrumental. And lyricaly Quinn complements the track with his flow and lyrics; this is a great track and I would love to see the video for this.5/5

6.PUT MY MIND TO IT-this is another strong stand out track, and a nice follow up to the previous track. The hook for this song is great and Quinn's flow on this track is great, plus STEVE VICIOUS's beat is a nice backdrop for Quinn to spit over. Each verse on this track is amazing, his flow and word play are top notch on this track.4.5/5

7.RUN THE BLOCK-the production on this track is a nice rock influenced type beat, but it reminds me to much of that one Ashanti track. Quinn sounds ok over this track, his flow as usual is on point but LEFT's production brings this track down.3/5

8.KICK YO' A**-DAVEY-D COHN saves the album with his dark production on this track, in fact this track has one of my favorite beats on the album. Of course Quinn sounds good on this southern type track; his flow is a little quicker on this track. Even the hook on this track is a little down south influenced.4/5

9.IT'S A DONE DEAL-TRAXAMILLION comes threw on this track with some highly original production. At first I really didn't like the beat that much on this track, now though I can't help but bump this track. The only thing is that at first Quinn sounds a little off beat.4/5

10.DO THAT FOR ME-this right here is another classic track, Cozmo returns to drop a brilliant instrumental over this track. I don't know what it is but I love the beat to this song, plus it doesn't hurt that San Quinn sounds great over this track. This is another stand out track from this album.5/5

11.SO YOUNG-we follow that great track with another favorite of mine, this song should have been a single with video with national rotation. The beat for this track is really easy on the ears and we have Sean T to thank for this great track. Quinn also sounds great on this track doing for the ladies, but its MIKE MARSHALL's great vocals that make this song. Another great song on this album.5/5

12.FROM A GANGSTA LIKE ME-once again we follow a great song with another, Cozmo returns once again to drop a great beat. And like usual Quinn sounds great over Cozmo's production. The hook on this track is pretty good to, so over all another solid track.4.5/5

13.THE HUNTER-Ya' Boy and Steve Vicious return on this track, and though this is not the strongest track on the album it is still a good song. Steve's production on this track is pretty good, not as good as his previous effort but still a strong showing. Also Quinn and Ya' Boy sound good together, I think they should do an album together since that seems to be the thing now a days.3.5/5

14.THAT'S BEEF-this track is another pretty good track, not a classic but it is strong enough to hold its own. T.B's production on this track is really nice, in fact that's what I like most about this track. Quinn and Big Rich sound good together on this track, but Rich sounds more comfortable on this track.4/5

15.HOLDIN' BACK THESE YEARS-another stand out track follows here, Davey-D Cohn returns along side BOX KEV to drop another great instrumental. The easy laid back feel of this track is great, and Quinn sounds right at home over this beat. This is another stand out song.4.5/5

16.I GOT GOONS-Sean T returns to drop another track, this time around though T doesn't deliver as strong as you would think. The beat is nice don't get me wrong but it sounds like a down south rip off, although instruments and effects on the hook sounds nice. Quinn does what he can on this track and the HOODTARZ sound ok over this track.3.5/5

17.TELL ME WHAT THE PRICE IS-this is another strong track off of this album, MAC PACINO dropped a great bouncy beat that would be perfect for the clubs. Quinn sounds natural over this bouncy energetic track, and the hook is catchy as well.4/5

18.WAY MORE THAN THEY CAN SEE-Davey-D Cohn returns once again but this time out he is accompanied by J-MAC to drop another classic instrumental. Quinn sounds great on this track, and SELAU sounds amazing on this track. For some reason every time I listen to this track I just picture it on a movie or something. This could have been a nice single.4.5/5

19.PIMPS N HUSTLAS-Steve Vicious returns to drop a great beat for Quinn to ride over, the beat is great and a perfect choice for the closing song. Quinn switches his flow a little to adjust to the track, and of course he kills. Also PIERCE sounds great on the hook, this was a great choice for the final track.4.5/5

Over all this was very good album, definitely one of the best to come out in 06, I recommend this album to any body that likes any kind of rap.
