Wildlife love it, July 26, 2009
This review is from: San Remo Solar Birdbath Fountain
We enjoy this fountain so much that we are ordering another one after 3 years. We consider this fountain an essential happiness purchase. It is in full Texas sun on a patio, surrounded by pot plants. Wildlife love it and large animals can tip it over leaving the pump gasping for water. When we travel, we remove the pump to be sure it doesn't run dry. It is a bit tricky to empty because water stays under the rim.

Good Customer Service, August 27, 2011
This review is from: San Remo Solar Birdbath Fountain
I got this bird bath in August 2011. After I set it up, it started working as soon as the sun hit it. After 3 days it stopped.
Reading the spec sheet, I saw that the pump runs on 6 volts. I measured the voltage from the solar unit and found it was only utting out 3 volts in high noon sun.
I wrote to the manufacturer and within 3 more days, they sent me a replacement solar unit and pump no questions asked. I noticed the solar assembly is a bit different from the original, so I wonder if they realized they needed a better unit.
It has worked for the next 3 days, so, so far so good.
One hint. Since the water return from the upper bowl down to the reservoir is just an open notch in the rim, it can allow larger particles of debris to fall into the
reservoir that eventually could clog the pump intake.
I sloved this simpy by taking a piece of nylon mesh repair screen such as the type you would fix a screen door with and created a band about an inch and a half wide. I sewed the ends together to form a looped band that fits around the inner rim of the bowl and covers the return notch. It traps any large things and keeps them from ever reaching the pump.
IThe service response was good, and if this holds out, I would rate them a four.
I'm giving myself a star for the screen idea too.

Pump does not work, July 6, 2011
This review is from: San Remo Solar Birdbath Fountain
Love the look of the fountain but the pump does not work. I worried about a solar pump not having enough power to make the water flow and I was right.
Plenty of direct sunlight but the pump could not get the water up to create an actual fountain. It is now a nice looking bird bath.....
