5.0 out of 5 stars Fast!
If you're taking photos of little Suzie holding up her spelling bee award then you don't need a fast CF card. If you're shooting sports photos, though, that speed is the difference between staying in business or putting your gear for sale on eBay.

2.0 out of 5 stars Transcend is better...
This card stores images fine. Just doesn't quite buffer video well. It can only record 15 seconds or less of video on full resolution before the buffer runs out on a 60D. Got a 32gb Transcend UDMA 600x card and Viola! No more problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast!, April 21, 2010

If you're taking photos of little Suzie holding up her spelling bee award then you don't need a fast CF card. If you're shooting sports photos, though, that speed is the difference between staying in business or putting your gear for sale on eBay.

Here's an example: I shoot world class track & field. With the older "slow" cards it would take my camera 42 seconds to write the 21 RAW images from the buffer on to the card. While that may not be a problem for most people, if I were shooting Jeremy Wariner who's running his 400 meter race in just 43+ seconds then I need to worry.

With these super fast cards it now takes my newer camera only 6 seconds to write the 28 images in the buffer.

No grey hair and eBay doesn't get my business.

Fast cards are nice and these cards are fast.

I added this card to my collection, primarily to be used in a Nikon D3 and Nikon D3S. I also have a FW800 Lexar Card Reader. I shoot a lot of action sports and am usually shooting 7-9 FPS. Writing speed is very important so the camera does not stop firing while the raw files are being written to the memory card. When moving the pictures from the card to the computer via the FW800 card reader is super fast as well. I have the need for speed:)

Bought this card with my new Canon 7D, works perfectly, and has a very fast write speed. I can shoot an entire card full of pictures at 8 frames per second, the card is fast enough the camera buffer never fills up.

I will be getting a second card soon as a backup.

This card will make a difference even if you don't shoot high speed multiple shots. It makes a huge difference when you download the pictures to your PC. I shoot RAW pictures, and they're 19Mb on the average. When you download a few hundred of these you no longer have to wait forever to complete. This card is FAST.

We are professional photographers who primarily shoot sports. We have 4 of these cards (2 per), and we absolutely LOVE the speed of the card. When we shoot 1,500 to 2,000 pictures at a game, we don't have time to waste waiting sometimes hours to dump the card to get pictures ready for media and our website. Together with the reader New Lexar Media Professional UDMA Dual-Slot USB 2.0 Reader Ompact Portable Design High-Performance, we can drop pictures in no time at all.

This CF card is great! My buffering times seem to have been increased dramatically and shooting everything in RAW is easier with 16GB to work with. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because, if you're using this card with a Canon 5D classic, as I am, you need to upgrade the firmware on your camera, otherwise this card will only hold 8GB. While this may seem like user error on my part, I still wish the company I bought it from SanDisk 16GB 60MB/s Extreme Compact Flash Card SDCFX-016G-A61 (US Retail Package) would have been more communicative with me when I told them the card only held 8GB.

As usual, great SanDisk product. Fast and reliable, works well in both my Canon 7D and 5D MarkII. With slower CF cards, I would sometimes get a "busy" indicator after 2 or 3 shots when shooting in RAW mode - Now I can shoot at the speeds the cameras promised. Delivery was fast, ahead of the promised schedule even though purchased during the Christmas rush.

This is the card I am using for wildlife shots. The write speed ensures I get the shots I need, and using a fast card reader puts it onto my computer quickly as well. I like the 16GB size for RAW photography since I get more frames per card and am not changing cards as often. This card is reliable, and SanDisk has worked well for me for years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great - but don't pay for speed you don't need., August 23, 2011

This review is from: SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro CF memory card - UDMA 90MB/s 600x (SDCFXP-016G-P91, Retail Package) (Personal Computers)
This card works fine, but then so do a lot of the other cards I own. I also own the "Extreme", not the "Extreme Pro" version of this card and for half the price it works exactly the same in my camera. My camera is a Nikon D700, not exactly a slouch, and testing this card against the Extreme and Extreme IV 4GB, the results were almost exactly the same, 25 shots took 50 seconds to take and completely clear the buffer.

In benchmark testing using a Hyperdrive Colorspace UDMA, both the Extreme and the Extreme Pro were equal at about 30/Mbs per second read speeds, and the 4GB Extreme IV was actually faster by about 5 Mbs.

At this point, I wish I would have bought just another 16GB Extreme, or even purchased a 32GB Extreme rather than spent the extra money for speed my camera or card reader can't use, but maybe my next camera will take advantage of it. On the other hand, by the time I buy another camera these things will probably be 1/4 of the price.
