I bought the Kodak Playsport Zx5 from Amazon. I was using my Sandisk class 4 card, and the performance was good - but the card was only 4GB. So, I got this card, and wow, what a difference. While the class 4 card was totally acceptable (pressing record took a second to start recording, and stopping the recording took another second to stop the recording), this card is much faster. Starting and stopping the recording are instant, and I can record nearly 6 hours of 1080p video due to the card being 32GB. In addition, the videos transfer to my computer with my card reader much faster than before. So, there's not much more I can ask for. This card does a great job, and it shipped to me very fast.

I noticed a review (which has now been deleted) that assumed that these cards were bootleg. Definitely not. The card comes boxed up in the official box, sealed, and doing a performance test for memory cards on the PC (using H2testw - a freeware program) confirmed that the card is a class 10 card and it works perfectly. The program fills the entire card with data so it could test the read/write speed and make sure that the card can have information written to every area of it. The card is legit.

The write speed was 10.9MByte/s while the read speed was 13.7 MByte/s. The write speed on my class 4 card was 3.76 MByte/s and the read speed was 8.45 MByte/s. I did notice that the card says "Up to 30 MB/s" (read speed, I assume) on the box, while I am only getting 13.7 - I wonder if this is a limitation of my card reader, which is several years old. If anybody has information about that, or has performed a test with H2testw, I'd love to hear from you. I'm going to assume that the "up to 30MB/s" is for optimal conditions using the fastest hardware, so it doesn't really matter to me. While the class 4 card was good enough for me, this card is way better. It's good to know that I'm covered once I get some more advanced cameras in the future.

Bad product or Bad luck January 10, 2012

I bought a new Digital SLR camera and decided to buy a 32GB PNY SD Card. The camera vendor told me that PNY is not reliable and I should get a SanDisk card instead. So I bought this card, which actually has better transfer rate than my PNY card. I use RAW files for all my pictures. To make a long story short, the PNY card worked flawlessly, however the SanDisk Extreme card I bought here gives me a "card error" every 10 pictures or so, and I have to eject the card from the camera, and re-insert it to fix it. I was just on a 3 week vacation. I would get caught in the moment and keep snapping pictures, when I realize that it is in error mode and I missed out on many pictures. So I decided to just remove the card and use my other one. Very disappointing. So it is either this product is bad quality, or I just got a lemon. I used several other cards in my camera with no problems. I would be willing to try this product again if I can get it exchanged.

Fast & Lots of Space June 14, 2011

Upgraded from a 8GB Ultra II Class 2 to this one. I always shoot in RAW, and on my T3i so I can only get 6 pics before the buffer is full, So I couldn't see much of a difference there because of the camera. When I tried out jpg though, there was never a hesitation with this card.

And I love that I went from being able to only shoot ~250 RAW photos to over 1000. Also since I shoot HD movies with my T3i i'll never have to worry about running out of space like I did with the 8GB card.

Over all I recommend this to anyone wanting an Extreme III card, cause I'm not sure the difference between these and the non HD Video ones. All I know is that these are cheaper for an awesome card. Definitely recommend!

What an SD Card should be
I bought this to replace another brand of SD card that claimed to be a class 10 card. That card should have been labelled as a class 4 card as it could not keep up with a 5. Read more
