4.0 out of 5 stars Fast and easy to use
The setup was a snap - plug it in - install the program and it works. Downloads all memory cards in a short time - much faster and easier than working from the camera.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not upgradeable
Easy to use and install until you upgrade to Windows XP. Program can't be removed after upgrade and and there is no driver from SanDisk to support XP. Consider Microtech Zio.

Though it's documentation is third world, installation was so easy, I didn't deduct points. I popped in the CD, clicked "English," then the correct Multimedia card image (the one, perhaps. tricky, point) and 15 seconds latter, I was rebooting. When I came back up, the lights on my now-USB-connected drive, indicated success and my 64 MB card (which effortlessly slipped in and out of the slot), was recognized as a new drive. File manipulation is easy; just pay attention to using the proper file-tree protocol, so the hand-held recognizes where the files are.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked in XP for me!, February 9, 2002

This reader worked in Windows XP for me! I just plugged it into my USB hub and it was recognized as a drive. I did not load the installation disk, like some others have done. It's using XP's native drivers.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Positive Review, May 3, 2001

This review is from: SanDisk Imagemate USB MultiMedia Card Reader (SDDR-12-01) (Personal Computers)
This SanDisk Imagemate has worked very well with both Windows 98 and Windows 2000 Professional. I have not had luck with an IBM Thinkpad running Windows NT, due to NT's lack of support for USB. Access time is equivalent or faster than any standard IDE hard drive. By far the fastest way to transfer data off of your smart media. ...

1.0 out of 5 stars Do NOT buy this product if you have a mac, March 26, 2001

First, SanDisk tech support is horrendous.

Second, the product doesn't work with System 8.

Third, the product generates a "Bus Error" with System 9.0.

And at every step along the way, SanDisk will tell you a different story about why. Save your money and buy something else. Now I have to!
