5.0 out of 5 stars Great Card. Bulk Packaging.
As described at the top of this page, this is a "bulk package" card, meaning it doesn't come in a pretty package. All you get is the carrying case with the Micro SD card and SD adapter inside. Who need the packaging anyway? You're just going to throw it away as soon as you get your card out ;) Rest assured, it is in fact a brand new, official card (well... at least...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Value, but casing is troublesome
My MicroSD card works fine and everything is in order. One thing that bothers me is the adapter.

The Adapter encases the MicroSD card, but the lock mechanism is annoying. Everytime I insert it into my computer, I cannot delete anything off of it because it's locked. I take take it out of my laptop and find that the lock switch is a little flimsy. So I can...

As described at the top of this page, this is a "bulk package" card, meaning it doesn't come in a pretty package. All you get is the carrying case with the Micro SD card and SD adapter inside. Who need the packaging anyway? You're just going to throw it away as soon as you get your card out ;) Rest assured, it is in fact a brand new, official card (well... at least the one I got from the seller "a-depot" was).

FWIW, I chose the seller "a-depot" because, if you include shipping costs, they were the cheapest seller period. 2gb transflash for $30.39 shipped. Just wow.

Use:
I plugged in into my card reader and it mounted instantly. Actual usable space on the card showed up as 1.89 GB. I did a couple tests with a 30MB file and found that the transfer rates over USB2 (on my system at least) are consistently 1mb/s for both read AND write.

After copying over a few MP3's, I moved the card into my Verizon Motorola Krzr. Everything showed up right away. Not much more to say.

There's not much to say about this kind of product. Either it works or it doesn't - this one works just fine, and the price is definitely right.

I'm using mine in a Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx, and it holds the whole of City Navigator North America, plus a ton of Topo maps with plenty of space left over.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Price - No Hassle Packaging, April 4, 2007

Best price I could find on 2GB MicroSD. Do you hate bleeding from trying to cut open the tough acrylic packaging that most items come in? These are delivered in their flip open cases and are ready to go in seconds. Bulk package has its advantages!

This is the way things should work. You get it out of the package, you plug it in, and viola, it just works.

1.0 out of 5 stars Adapter faulty & BlueProton did not refund shipping, July 16, 2008

Three computers and a printer would not recognize this card, so in exasperation I took it to Best Buy to find out why. Turns out the adapter was faulty. BlueProton did not refund shipping for faulty merchandise, so there was no way I would try another card to see if it were a fluke. Why should I have to pay shipping 2X to test their products?

The Adapter encases the MicroSD card, but the lock mechanism is annoying. Everytime I insert it into my computer, I cannot delete anything off of it because it's locked. I take take it out of my laptop and find that the lock switch is a little flimsy. So I can continue adding, but not deleting.

I guess another adapter is in order. Other than that, the card stores 2GB... I should know, because mine's at full capacity, haha.

Also, I noticed that the transfer speed from this card versus a regular SD card is slower.
