Not all Extreme IIIs are the same,

This review is from: SanDisk SDCFX3-004G-A31 4GB Extreme III CF Card (Personal Computers)
Note that this 4 GB Extreme III through Amazon, although having a "list" price about the same as those sold by Amazon's partners is somewhat more expensive than what the partners are selling it for
The partners are mostly selling the SDCFX3-4096-901 while Amazon is selling the SDCFX3-004G-A31. The latter is newer and writes 50% faster. That's why the sales price is more. Which one you should get depends on how fast your camera is and whether the speed is worth the extra cost to you.

Superb,
This review is from: SanDisk SDCFX3-004G-A31 4GB Extreme III CF Card (Personal Computers)
I have purchased this CF card about a month ago and its simply amazing.
The read and write speed is a lot faster than my previous SimpleTech 1gb memory card. There's no slowdown or hiccup on my Canon EOS Rebel XTi when shooting continuously in RAW or JPEG. It's an excellent card for shooting at a sports event and I would recommend this card to anyone upgrading their old CF card.

Good balance between changing cards constantly & "putting all your eggs in one basket". Don't know what's happening internally but I'm expecting it is safe & secure because it is a Sandisk Extreme. In the documentation it's a side note, but for speed this is the 200x between the old 133x & the Extreme IV 300x.

Amazon had one of the best prices I found. Be careful not to order the older version of this card (SDCFX3-4096-901 $35.45) which is only 20 MB/Sec. This new card was actually less expensive ($34.17) than the older card and performs at 30 MB/Sec.

Fast, Dependable - Sandisk!,

This review is from: SanDisk SDCFX3-004G-A31 4GB Extreme III CF Card (Personal Computers)
I purchased three of these cards and sold my older cards from different companies. One of my original cards was rated at 133x and the other was a 233x rated card. I can easily say that the Sandisk performs more quickly in several ways: one, buffer is cleared faster in camera (think more pictures at max FPS); two, camera goes through pictures more quickly IN the camera; and three, transfers files faster onto the computer (very noticeably faster).
While I'm not sure that these cards are rated faster than my 233x card, I can vouch that both in writing and reading, these cards perform faster. My only gripe, is of course, price. I could have purchased a 8GB card for less than the price of ONE of these 4GB cards. Of course those 8GB cards were very low-line Kingston cards that don't have the quality reputation for underrated speed and reliability that sandisk does. Ask yourself this: is it worth saving a little money on a memory card to use in that $1,000+ camera/lens combination, at the risk of not having your pictures be there? Or not having the performance you need when you want it? Sure, not everyone shoots at 5FPS. If you're using an older, lower frame rate camera and don't shoot at a high FPS, then the read/write speed of these cards really isn't anything more than a small convenience. If you can take advantage of the speed, they really are worth the price. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who has spent the kind of money that a DSLR costs.

First the seller, perfect everything. Now the product what can I say about San disk, I am a professional photography and have used them for 7 years with one bad file or disk. I am not sure why anyone would need a faster card than the Extreme III with today's camera buffers.

Purchased 3 of these 4GB cards for underwater photography in Bonaire. These cards performed beyond my expectations. I loaded the cards with 500-700 shots each day and downloaded in the evenings. Fast down loading with crisp results. We had three cameras underwater shooting macro, as well as regular shooting. Never a problem with these cards which were to be used as backups and ended up as primary cards. In a tough under water enviorenment they were superb. I worry about losing shots if the card fails. Not one problem with 3 people shooting their own styles.

I am using this for Sony A300 DSLR and it works perfectly. This improved Extreme III CF card provides 30MB/s which I can feel the big difference in speed during transfering images or files to my PC.

San Disk CF for DSLR use,
By
This review is from: SanDisk SDCFX3-004G-A31 4GB Extreme III CF Card (Personal Computers)
I bought this memory card for a Canon 40D DSLR and am very happy to see that it keeps up w/ my burst (3-5 shots) shooting. Almost as soon as I stop taking the photos, with in 2-4 seconds, the read/write light goes out. Use of a Ultra II in my older Canon Digital Rebel was very slow to write. But that could have been a function of the camera vs the CF card. I haven't tested the two for speed.

I like the SanDisk cards. They work better than another company's I recently tried. They load fast and I never lose photos. The company I purchased it from through Amazon had the best price and included a catalog with my order.
