5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to get the most out of your PDA
I debated long and hard about buying a PDA with integrated WiFi and this SD card was my compromise. It's definitely nicer on the budget than splurging for integration. And it's alot less inconvenient then I thought it would be. I've found the card easy to install and it never drops my connection. You just pop it in the memory slot and it does its thing. Even when I'm...

2.0 out of 5 stars Hold it Now!!!!
The SanDisk WiFi card installation was easy to understand however only gave details of how to install the card if you don't run into any problems. I have an Ipaq 3955 and I installed the drivers and software to find that the card couldn't be detected. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice before search the internet for a fix. I updated my ROM on my device. Reinstalled...

Even when I'm walking from hotspot to hotspot, I don't have to pay attention to it at all.

Ok here are the caveats. 1) It's a little slow loading webpages, but that could be due to my pda hardware or the network at my school which I found to be slow using the wifi on my laptop. 2) I once had a problem that it suddenly wasn't recognizing the networks. However I reinstalled the driver and it worked perfectly. 3) Sandisk doesn't yet have a driver for Palm OS, a problem that my Palm friends complain about relentlessly. But it serves them right for choosing Palm, right?

Nevertheless, I give this card a 5 star rating because the flaws are rather minor and in the ever-important areas of cost and convenience, it surpassed all my expectations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Wifi Solution for your PDA, December 6, 2003

I have this on my ipaq 1935, unlike the other reviews i do not notice any "looseness" in the fit of the card in my SDIO slot, I rarely have any disconnects, and overall this has been a great solution for a mobile computing platform. Although being small it boasts great power and coverage, and has been absolutely reliable. I have noticed a small amount of battery drainage, but nothing overwhelming. I would reccomend this product to anyone looking to get their SDIO enabled pda online.

Reinstalled my software and all of my personal data which had to be backed up before being erased to update ROM. After all that it still didn't work. Finally, on a fluke I find out that I have to hold the card in because it doesn't sit in the port correctly. After doing that too much I'll be working on a sure case of carpel tunnel syndrome. The browser works perfectly but, at what cost? Tech support wouldn't admit that others had the problem but I found at least 3 of the same complaints online. TS on recommendation is to return it and get another Sandisk. Maybe I'll return it and get another
WiFi card all together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great device if you have the right PDA!, March 16, 2005
This review is from: SanDisk SDWSDB-000-768 Wireless 802.11b SD Card w/PC Card (Personal Computers)
This is a great an easy way to connect to the internet via wifi access point. Just load the drivers and run the application on your device. Be sure you have the right kind however, this works best with Pocket Pc's. However it will work with the Zire 71 model as well. THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH ZIRE 72!

4.0 out of 5 stars it works pretty good, March 6, 2004

I'm writing this review from my Ipaq 1935 using the card. Installation was quick and easy. Loading pages is a bit slow but I'm not sure whether it is due to card or hardware (memory). I'm sure it's not the connection because I'm sitting next to the router. Well, as the title says, the card works pretty good and I recommend it

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Card, February 11, 2004

I'm using this with my ipaq h1945. I'm in college and my university has hotspots all over so I use it a lot. All in all it works well, but takes a little time at first to cofigure correctly. Once it's set up it doesn't take much work, but one time it somehow lost the WEP code that I use for my home network. It says its "low power", but its still hard on the battery, though you can probably get like 2 hours out of it. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't come with a protective case, like an SD card would.

4.0 out of 5 stars Working just fine!!, November 22, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: SanDisk SDWSDB-000-768 Wireless 802.11b SD Card w/PC Card (Personal Computers)
Despite other reviews for this product, I've had no problems like a loose card or the battery being drained with my iPAQ1945.
I've had the card for a month now and after some initial trial and error with the wireless settings of Windows Mobile 2003, it has been working great at work and a dozen different hotspots where I've tried it.
I only had to soft reset the iPAQ once, but I'm not really sure if it was caused by the card software at all.
I agree there could have been a better manual or troubleshooting guide, but I believe most of the software setup difficulties are due to Microsoft and not Sandisk.
My battery lasts a good 3-4 hours of web browsing and when I'm done I simply remove the card. That simple.
I'm a satisfied customer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed, September 19, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: SanDisk SDWSDB-000-768 Wireless 802.11b SD Card w/PC Card (Personal Computers)
I have an HP 2215 with an SDIO slot which Sandisk says is compatible with the new card.

First of all, the card is very small, much smaller than any comparable CF wireless card. The device does stick out enough to be concerned about breaking, though. The device also installed very easily.

HOWEVER, the card would not stay locked in the slot very well. I am not sure if this is because other SD cards (memory) do not protrude from the device or not, but the card was very very loose.

ALSO, even after I had it locked in place, the connection was very iffy and would go in and out.

EVEN, when I did have a good connection (read: handle with care) the signal was very very poor when compared with a Netgear CF card or with a new Dell laptop with an HP centrino wireless chipset. I tried the device on a Linksys and a Netgear access point.

There is NO documentation with the device. It does come with a CD with drivers and basic information but nothing like what you would expect on the settings on the Sandisk applications. The comparable Netgear device came with a great manual.

EVEN though it is much bigger, I sent my SD card back and will be buying a Netgear CF wireless card. It has much better reception, no breakage concerns, no issues with plugging the card in the CF slot and much bettern documentation.

1.0 out of 5 stars Should be considered by experts only, April 21, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: SanDisk SDWSDB-000-768 Wireless 802.11b SD Card w/PC Card (Personal Computers)
As with a lot of similar products, sandisk's should only be considered by people who don't need any documentation. That's because there isn't any. If it doesn't work first time, then forget it. There's no documentation, not even on their web site. So please Sandisk, how about some customer support?

4.0 out of 5 stars the wi-fi card, March 11, 2009
This review is from: SanDisk SDWSDB-000-768 Wireless 802.11b SD Card w/PC Card (Personal Computers)
The card works but it does not come with any software. you have to figure everything on your own. It would be nice if it came with some instructions. Of course I got the refurbished one at 1/10 the price just $18.99 compared to $119.00. So it was worth it.
Just a note there are wi-fi cards with built in memory of 256mb or so. Just wished I was better aware of this before purchasing this one which has no memory, just wi-fi capability.
