My wifes Sansa player refused to hold a charge and she was fairly upset given that she had not used it weekly and this had happened after one year. On an offchance, I tried the battery replacement kit.
It was trivial to install and even came with new screws and a precision screw driver. The player now works like a charm again. Well worth the cost of the kit.

I was sort of shocked how poorly my first Sansa battery performed over its brief lifetime, but this one seems ok.

I had no trouble opening my Sansa thanks to the included screwdriver. The new battery works like new with a good charge.

Any disputes over the longevity of the battery shipped with the E200 aside, a word of warning to anyone with what they believe is simply a failing energy source. If your E200 powers up while connected to your PC but does not turn on after charging, contact Sandisk's customer service before replacing the battery. I'm hoping that the difficulty I've had with my player's power is an isolated incident, but if you've purchased this player around the time of the series' introduction, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Ok here's the deal, if you own one of the players that takes this battery just buy this kit, simply put you will NEVER find it at this price anywhere else and it's a perfect fit, along with that they give you the tool to install it as well as new screws, you would be crazy not to get a couple of these.

The seller took a bit longer to ship than I'd like since I live in their home city, but the product itself is fine. The included screwdriver made it a snap to add into my refurb e250 V1. Rockbox is reading the initial charge at 9-10 hours but we'll see how it holds up in the long term. I don't have anything negative to say about this product. I'm just glad I was able to find a Sandisk-made battery for my player rather than having to go with an aftermarket part.

Replacing your SanDisk Sansa E200 series battery couldn't be simpler. The proper screwdriver is provided so all you do is unscrew the back of your MP3 player, pop out the old battery, slide the new one into its slot and put the back plate back on with the original screws. Then turn your player back on and you are back in business. Why take your player to a repair shop and pay high repair bills when you can do it all yourself so inexpensively! Try it, you'll be glad you did.

I have had (2) 4gb e260(s) for over a year now. The battery on one just went out so, I bought two new ones (for $40, same price to send in one ipod to get battery switched out). I have transmitters for both and a way to plug into any system I'm close to. Love the Sansa. Oh and, free shipping by Amazon.

Being able to replace your own battery on an mp3 player is probably a very overlooked key product feature! The original battery on my sansa e280 lasted about 2 years, when it died, I just used it as a jukebox on my living room stereo, because it still worked plugged in. Now I got a new battery, and for only $20, I feel like I got a whole new 8 gig portable player again!

The battery worked inatially, but it's life was only about a month and I'm not an mp3 heavy duty user. I've been trying to recharge it for the past 2 weeks with no success.
