5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy
With the new Wii update, you can really utilize these 2GB cards for storage, and they are a must have for anyone that downloads from the wii store. Sadly, the space on this tiny card is about 100 times greater than that of the wii console memory. Cmon Nintendo, I expect better from you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Limited usefulness, inexpensive generic cards serve same purpose, January 1, 2007
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: SanDisk Wii 2GB Secure Digital SD Gaming Memory Card - Bulk Packaging (Electronics)
SD memory cards are an optional purchase of limited usefulness for your Nintendo Wii. Use a SD memory card to store photographs and music for the Wii's Photo Channel; and to back-up saved games, downloaded Wii Virtual Console titles, and Wii software (such as the Wii Internet browser).

Downloaded virtual console titles and software can't be run directly from an SD card but only from the Wii's console memory. Nintendo's thought here is that if you don't have any free space in your Wii's console memory for new software or a saved game, offload something onto a SD card. However, one may also delete purchased virtual console titles and software, because these may be re-downloaded free of charge from the Wii Shopping Channel.

Offloaded virtual console titles and Wii software on an SD card may not be used on another Wii console, as they are locked specifically to your Wii Shopping Channel account. SD cards will not store Nintendo GameCube saved games -- you will need to purchase a GameCube memory card for that. Your Mii avatars may not be backed up onto a SD card. Use a Wii Remote Controller to store up to ten Mii characters per controller.

Of note, generic high-speed SD memory cards perform just as well (for example, PQI, Ridata, or Sandisk), and often cost one-third less than a Sandisk/Nintendo branded SD memory card. Given the Nintendo Wii's limited utilization of SD memory cards, generic SD cards are a smarter buy.

If you can find these at a great price (under 30), as I did, definitely pick one up. And one is plenty, considering I've downloaded over 20 games onto it and it is not even 1/4 filled up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Storing The Wii, May 31, 2009
This review is from: SanDisk Wii 2GB Secure Digital SD Gaming Memory Card - Bulk Packaging (Electronics)
With the needs now important of saving your data for the Wii, many gamers are now looking for more ways to store their added data. Thanks to Wiiware, and now downloading songs for games like Guitar Hero: On Tour and Rock Band 2 onto the Wii, there is a much bigger need to store your favorite games. That does come into play with the Wii SD Memory Card from Sandisk, it is a simple and convient way of storing your game data from your favorite Wii titles like Super Mario Galaxy, and The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Now, you can also directly load games from your SD Memory Card and play them on the Wii, with the new updated 4.0 menu. You can store great downloadable titles like Art Style: Cubello, Midnight Pool, and classics for the Virtual Console like Sonic The Hedgehog 3. With all the new features for the Wii, I strongly recommend it more than ever to get this Sandisk Memory Card for the Wii.

1.0 out of 5 stars wow guys..., December 27, 2009
This review is from: SanDisk Wii 2GB Secure Digital SD Gaming Memory Card - Bulk Packaging (Electronics)
Surprise.... it's a normal SD card, but white.
Regular SD cards will work just as well, like this one:
SanDisk 2 GB Class 2 SD Flash Memory Card SDSDB-2048-A11

To all you mommies and daddies who want to buy all the Wii accessories your kids are screaming for, IT'S EVEN THE SAME BRAND. Buy the cheaper one and let me know if you can tell the difference in terms of performance. Go ahead. Try it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for Homebrew and BootMii, January 24, 2010

I have a handful of cards (and the cheap ones) don't work as well for Wii Homebrew, especially BootMii (google it). I got this card at Walmart for $10 (which is $6 cheaper than a non-Nintendo labeled Sandisk oddly enough). Compared to my Sandisk 1GB (non-Nintendo as well) this one is faster. Plus its large enough for all my homebrew and my back-up NAND file (for use with BootMii).

Anyone getting into homebrew should grab one of these cards, check you local Wal-mart (they're cheap there, $9.95) and get going. Other Sandisk cards are mostly usable (some not). Google "BootMii/SD Card Compatibility List" for a list of compatible cards. This one is fully compatible, I've done a full NAND save and restore with no problems.

There are cheaper cards on Amazon (and the one I ordered didn't work for homebrew) but get this one locally at Wal-mart for cheaper. Best bang for the buck and great for homebrew.

Cheap memory is rarely a bargain, spend the money and get this Sandisk for Wii Card, fully tested with homebrew and highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wii 2GB SD card for increased console memory, April 10, 2011

Worked great for what I needed it to do. Honestly I'm only writing this because Amazon sent me an e-mail saying to review my recent purchase, and it really inspired me to get on here and do it. I'm sure millions will read this, buy it, and feel the same way about their purchase.

I have no complaints for this memory card. Amazon had it for really cheap and it works with our Wii!!! Other cards didn't work so we went with the one that had "Wii" on it.

4.0 out of 5 stars 2GB SDHC card, January 30, 2012

This review is from: SanDisk Wii 2GB Secure Digital SD Gaming Memory Card - Bulk Packaging (Electronics)
The card makes the work pretty fine on Wii installed. Later I've learnt that I could load it up to 32 GB SHDC cards on the console so it would be my next purchase. Data transfer speed is just what expected for the product.

I bought this as an extra SD card for purchasing of DLC for Rock Band & Guitar Hero games. Nothing really to go into detail about, it worked flawlessly and I can now get some more DLC tracks for my games.
