I've had my reader for about a year and never a problem with it. We had Windows ME and now have XP and it works as good as new.

I have had this little gadget for over a year now. I take it with me where ever I travel. Every night when I come back to the hotel or where ever I am staying I download to my laptop all the pictures I have taken during the day, without any problem. First I had an old laptop with Win 98 SE, now I have a new one with WIN XP Home Edition, and it keeps working as good as ever.

Using Mac G4 running OS 9.2.2. 1. When plugged into a USB hub it wouldn't allow the computer to shut down or restart. 2. Downloaded newest drivers - 2 icons would appear on the desktop and still wouldn't allow shut down or restart. 3. A real pain to insert the compact flash card. Consigned to the garbage can. A waste of (Money) plus postage.

More junk for the landfill,

I have the SanDisk SDDR-31 USB interface unit. Serial number 0364469. This thing has *never* worked correctly. Can't tell if it's the hardware or the driver software. Originally the USB interface wouldn't work. After much pain and a driver upgrade, the unit only corrupted my photos about 1/10 of the time. Recently upgraded my Win-2K Pro op-sys to service pack 3. Now, the reader cannot tell when a compact flash is inserted. The OS popup gives me the message "please insert media". In other words, SP3 for Win-2k completely broke my SanDisk CF reader. This is the last straw. The next home for this unit is my local landfill...

If you hate crawling around under your desk to unhook your camera wires all the time, this one's for you! This is a neat little device that is smaller than the mouse. I took it on vacation to download digital images to a laptop, instead of having to disconnect and drag all my camera wires from my desktop PC. It works great! Just sits there thinking it's a removable drive. And I haven't had any conflict problems with other devices (using Win98). I'm leaving this one in the laptop case, and am ordering a second one for my desktop!

This is a great idea and should work fairly simple. It is easy to use and easy to install yet it crashed my Windows 2000 PC perhaps it is just a conflict with another perifphal on my computer. So I tried putting it on another computer. Although there was no crash it caused another USB device not to work. You are taking a risk with this product. |
