Product Description

SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.0 Flash Drive

Transfer, Store, and Share Files Ten Times Faster with USB 3.0

With read speeds of up to 130 MB/s and write speeds up to ten times faster than standard USB 2.0 drives(1), the SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.0 Flash Drive lets you quickly move, store, and share your favorite media. Use it to add up to 32GB (2) of storage to your device or quickly move files between your laptop, tablet, game console, TV, car audio system, or other USB-enabled device. You can even transfer a full-length movie in less than 40 seconds (3). And because the drive is backward compatible, it works in any USB 2.0 port.

Compact, Stay-Put Design with Generous Storage

This small, low-profile flash drive fits snugly in your device's USB port and is designed to stay put, so you don't have to worry about it falling out or breaking. And with 32GB of storage space, you'll have plenty of room for all your photos, videos, music, and games.

  • Write speeds up to ten times faster than standard USB 2.0 drives (1)
  • Compact, low-profile drive stays put in port
  • Includes 32GB (2) of storage space for large files
  • Keep files private with included SanDisk SecureAccess software (4)
  • Includes one-year subscription to RescuePRO Deluxe file recovery software (5)

Password Protect Your Private Files

With SanDisk SecureAccess software, you can secure your private files in a password-protected folder while keeping other files available to share (4). With 128-bit encryption, the drive keeps your sensitive files private, even when you share it with friends.

Recover Lost or Deleted Photos with RescuePRO Deluxe

The card comes with a one-year subscription to RescuePRO Deluxe recovery software (5). With RescuePRO Deluxe software, it's easy to recover deleted or lost photos or videos and save them to your computer's hard drive--even if the files were deleted months ago.

I can this flash drive on my PS4 without formatting it.

It's much faster than the old USB 2.0 version, so if you're computer has the fast ports I'd totally recommend this.

Plugs directly into the USB, takes up almost no space and eliminates the possibility of being broken-off.

Finally got this in today, and I will start off by saying "Thank you Sandisk" for finally creating a super-tiny USB 3.0 flash drive. I have been waiting years for Sandisk to release a 3.0 version of the popular SanDisk Cruzer Fit 64GB USB 2.0 Low-Profile Flash Drive- SDCZ33-064G-B35 which I will be directly comparing to, and this new 3.0 drive DOES NOT disappoint!

First off, this thing is small, about the same size as the Cruzer Fit, which means I can leave this thing in my laptop and not worry about it breaking off like some of my much longer USB drives have. I even leave it in when taking my laptop with me when I travel. I almost never take it out. Its the perfect size, just like my Logitech mouse receiver is! It also seems you could put this on a keychain with one of those tiny wristlet cords, as it has a very tiny loop hole on the bottom. Also, personally, I like the more curvy designed edge this has over the old Sandisk Cruzer Fit, as it seems to be much easier to take out of my laptop (It has slightly more room to grip).

Secondly, this thing is fast... very, very fast in comparison to its USB 2.0 predecessor. I copied a few movies and other large files from my computer to this drive and here are the results comparing the two drives. The specs say the Ultra Fit 32GB and 64GB are suppose to read and write 10x faster than USB 2.0 drives. So lets find out if this is true. It is also important to note that you must have this plugged into a USB 3.0 port to get the advertised speeds. Well enough rambling, on to the results:

Results were based on my Alienware 17 laptop with an Intel i5 with 8GB RAM running Windows 8.

I had been looking high and low for a decent USB 3.0 drive in a very small form factor so when I saw this drive go on sale I decided "Why not?". So far this drive has exceeded my expectations.

Physically it seems well designed, the black part is easy to grip and makes it easier to remove the drive from the computer. The red led is visible without being distracting.

The first thing I did was to reformat the drive as exfat so I could use it with my Mac Mini and my Windows box which went smoothly.

Next I ran Crystal Disk Mark and got the following results using a USB 3.0 Port:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3 x64

This drive isn't the fastest drive ever but it is certainly more than worth the $20 I paid for it.

Edit:
The cap attaches very firmly and can be a pain to remove. On the other hand it is unlikely to just fall off in my pocket either.

Fast as can be. It won't work in my car stereo usb port, which is what it was purchased for, but it is still very fast. It gets hot though. It gets hot enough that I worry it could melt plastic inside the usb port. I've never before noticed a usb connector being hot to the touch when removed.

The SanDisk Ultra Fit Series USB 3.0 drive is certainly a nice upgrade from the Cruzer Fit. While slightly larger than the Cruzer Fit, the new Ultra Fit series retains the minimal profile and can be kept inside your laptop at all times. The read/write indicator light on this drive comes in the form of a faint red dot that shines through the middle of the "SanDisk" writing on the drive.

As a USB 3.0 drive, one would expect a significant difference as compared to the original Cruzer Fit. However, a quick benchmark using an USB 3.0 equipped computer gives us the following numbers:

4K Read Speed: 18.2MB/s Write Speed: 2.3MB/s
64K+/Continuous Read Speed: 100.7MB/s Write Speed: 22.0MB/s

As you can tell, the 4K performance of this new drive is quite disappointing, but the story does get considerably better once the data fragment hits above the 64K+ mark. In this condition, the drive was capable of achieving an average of 100MB/s Read and 21MB/s write. Personally, I am very disappointed in the write speed of this new drive, as I expected a modern release of a low-end USB 3.0 device to carry at least the ability to hit 50MB/s.

If your needs for a flash drive is portability and read speed, then this drive is perfect for you. However, if your needs require significant write performance in a drive, then I would certainly look elsewhere.
