I had never heard of slot radio until I was in the purchase flow of a sansa player. Looked it up and sounded good. I wanted to have music for the gym (the reason I was purchasing the sansa player) and even though I have tons of music in my computer, I didn't want to have to build playlists. Gave this a try and loving it! 1,000 songs? Do the math, it's cheap. The best value, though, is that the playlists are all there and ready. Warmup, Cardio, Yoga, etc. Perfect for what I wanted!!!

Many songs but it should have a language rating, beware...,

I purchased a mp3 player with the slotRadio option for my wife's birthday. She used the player often, mostly when excersising. I investigated and found the slotRadio Health & Fitness Card. I purchased it and off she went to run. After a few weeks I asked her how the slotRadio card was. She said she had stopped using the card due to the language in many of the songs.
My main issue is that there are no players I've found where I can set it to skip these songs. I've also looked for track lists for the cards - no luck. For now I'll stick to purchasing the individual songs I want and using them.

I'm a big fan of the Slot Radio cards - I bought the 80s/90s card shortly after getting my Sandisk player, and have enjoyed it a lot. So, saw this one and thought I'd give it a shot.
If you're unfamiliar with slot radio, the best way to describe it is that it's just like listening to the radio without having any commercials. Sort of like a portable XM radio system without the monthly fees. You can skip songs and change "channels" (playlists) but you can't go back nor can you copy any of the files. The Power Mix, Cardio and Road Work channels are excellent. Nice mix of tunes, and all work well with keeping you on your toes. The Warm Up is OK - did a fair amount of skipping on that channel, but there are some decent tunes. Didn't care for the Yoga Mix or Spa channels at all, and the Cool Down is passable at best. But, even with avoiding some of the channels I'm left with several hundred tunes for pennies per. I've only heard a couple of tunes so far that are also on the 80s/90s card - the vast majority are new to this card. Highly recommend if you have a SanDisk player that uses Slot Radio cards.

Okay, yes, some of the songs you will forward past. I do. But that will still leave a heck of a lot of songs that you can enjoy. Some of the songs are obscure, but many are fairly new and popular.
I chose to try a slotRadio card with my new SanDisk Sansa Clip+ (my first one) because I do not have a large music library on my computer. I was hoping that my Clip+ would have a decent FM radio receiver but its radio reception is about as bad as a $5 MP3 player I bought at Walgreen's one day when I was bored. The FM radio reception on the Clip+ is poor a lot of the time, which can be very annoying when you are trying to have a good workout. I was not that surprised and slotRadio is one of the reasons I opted for the Clip+. I wanted a big selection of crystal clear songs with my new MP3 player right out of the box and I was not disappointed! So how does slotRadio work? Here is how it works with my SanDisk Sansa Clip+... - Pop in the slotRadio card and select from 7 music categories (on the Health & Fitness card). - The first song in the category you selected will begin to play. - If you want to skip the song press the Right/Forward button. - If you want to back up and reply the song, sorry, you are out of luck. - slotRadio cards do not allow you to back up or to replay songs. Weird, but you get what you pay for I guess. - If you want to pause a song press the Up/Pause/Resume button. - After a little while the Clip+ will power itself off to conserve battery life. - The Clip+ will remember where you left off and begin playing the same song when you power on again. - If you are playing a slotRadio song and want to change categories press the Down/Submenu button. - You can jump from category to category by pressing the Down/Submenu button. - The Clip+ will remember what song you were in the middle of listening to in each category. 1,000 crystal clear songs for about $30 bucks. I have not found anything to beat it. Update: After 3 months using this slotRadio card pretty much daily I had to take away one star. Maybe I should have taken away two stars really. Why? Because I have heard some of the same songs repeatedly. There is one song for example (I don't know the title) that I swear I have heard at least 5 times now, and it is not the only one. So... 1,000 songs? Really? Was that 1,000 *UNIQUE* songs or just 1,000 songs? There is a big difference. Other than that I can't complain too much.

don't have time to download?
No clue on 'syncing your playlist?' Then this is the item for you. A great way to load your "clip-on" mp3 player with hours of exercise music. A great selection of tunes for not too much scratch. Of course, you could have your kids load your music.....<grin>

Works great. Clear sounding. My only complaint is the music is more for the younger generation. I'm 57 yrs. old & not interested in rap at all & there is alot of it on this.

The music that was listed as cardio, SPA cool down etc was not the catagory I would have given it. The music was not satisfying for me to exercise with.

One would think that this would be a great disc for the SlotRadio, my problem is that the cardio and power "stations" sometimes leave some umph to be desired.
Roadwork is still my favorite "station". Overall the SanDisk MP3 player is a great value if you use it for working out and travel.
