Good for those who are not technology saavy.,

This review is from: SanDisk slotRadio Player with slotRadio Mix Card (Black/Silver) (Electronics)
The Good:
*Very simple to use. *About 4 cents per song with numerous cards to buy. *An option to add your own MP3 if you decide to buy a mini SD card. *Square-shaped, nifty screen and a belt clip make the player look stylish. *FM-Radio included which gives you the name of the song that is playing. The Bad: *Inability to rewind a song(skip-only.) The Bottom Line: Looking for an alternative to an IPod? Hate messing around with iTunes and downloading songs? Are you technologically-challenged? Then Sandisk SlotRadio may be the right player for you. Simply pop the card in and you are good to go. The only options you have are volume and skipping a song. This is an internet-radio style player that allows you to skip a song, but NOT rewind it. Think of this as a Pandora Radio Player that you can find on the Internet. Eash Sandisk card is split into 7 playlists. The card that is included in this bundle has 7 lists: Country, Contemporary, R&B/Hip-Hop, Alternative, Rock, Chillout and Workout. Other cards also have similar playlists, so that the songs are organized and not all thrown together. If you wish, you can purchase your own mini SD card, which is relatively cheap these days(look for it on Amazon.) However, even with your own SD card, you will have the same limitation of skipping, but not rewinding any song. If you don't like messing around with cards, then you can still use this player as a FM-Radio. The shape of this player is about 2x2 inch square with about half an inch in width, which means it can be covered in the palm of your hand. There are also armband and other accessories that you can currently buy for it as well. If you have a friend or a family member who want to own MP3 player, but do not know how to download songs, get them this and they'll thank you for it. Remember: If you are buying a bundle, then you also get 1,000 popular songs, which includes a good mix of genres.

Just perfect for my needs. I have two slot cards with 2000 songs which will last me a long time.
The cards have a great variety of music. Great radio for traveling and workouts. No downloading just insert and play. The ability to go backwards to previously played songs or placing songs in your own order is not important to me. I saw slot radios advertised a couple of years ago in an airline magazine and wish I would have ordered one sooner. Like the small size and ease of operation.

This radio is perfect for the gym. It is lightweight, and easily clips to your clothes. It has very good sound, and is very easy to use. The battery stays charged a very long time. I highly recommend this radio.

This radio is hands down better than the ITunes. When I buy songs from Amazon, I can download them straight to a microSD card and listen to them everywhere. Instead of downloading the massive ITunes application on my Dell Mini Laptop, I don't need to download anything but the song.
The player is rechargable, so you do not need batteries. You can charge it via USB drive, or plug it into a power strip. One cord can do both, so you have no problems. I charged it the first time through my T.V. The player is tiny. Maybe an inch and a half square. It came with a cute orange box and a protector cover. It picks up a few good FM signals around me, which is great. The radio station comes in better than in my car. I will be telling all my friends to buy one.

This product does exactly what it says. You have to buy a preloaded card with music and afterwards you don't have to do anything but sit back and listen. I bought one for my mother. She does not have to worry about downloading anything and there is a good mix and a large variety of music on the cards. My mother enjoys listening to music at home, and I enjoy listening to music in my car and as I do my housework. Only drawback is that you can't rewind, but it is hours of music on one card.

Got the slot radio with mix card, and 2 additional cards for Christmas, 2010. I use it at work and it fits my needs perfectly. The radio is very good, and the cards provide lots of music at a very low price. I do not have the time or desire to mess with legal or illegal music downloading, so the cards work great for me. I also like the simple operation, so I can easily adjust the slot radio and do my work. Please understand with the slot radio you can not go back, repeat or shuffle, you are limited to linear play. Unit feels well made, I just wish there were more cards available to chose from.Update: Slot radio volume stuck after 10 months of use, the repair and replace process has been extremely painful. San disc is terrible to work with, they ask the same questions over, and over again, could not identify the product, etc. I started return and replace process over a month ago and would have given up had I not already bought 5 slot cards. |
