From the Author

When I hear the words, "sana, sana colita de rana" it brings backs memories of being comforted by my abuela, mami or papi. I always felt that rhyme was special, but I didn't realize just how much until my daughter's first boo-boo. Instinctively, the first words I blurted out as I tried to soothe her were, "sana, sana".  As a new mom, I quickly learned that the traditional rhyme coupled with some humor could truly make it all better.

The silly verses in this book are the same ones I used to make her laugh while healing her inevitable little scrapes and that is how this book was born. My hope is that "Sana, Sana" is a relatable story that serves as a way for generations to connect, read and laugh together as little ones learn about the cultural gem that is the "sana, sana" rhyme.

Since 1998 Indi has taught languages to children and adults. She lives in Southern California with her daughter, whose boo-boos she has made all better by using the traditional "sana, sana colita de rana" rhyme.

Indi's enthusiasm, creativity and love for languages inspire her to share language and culture through teaching and storytelling.

What a perfect book to read as a quick short story, or bed time story to a child! I figured because of the price at $4.99 it wasn't going to be anything spectacular, but when I read it I instantly became delighted in this book!

I myself, loved the illustrations the book had to offer, as did my twins :) Both of my children kept asking me to read it over, and over again...so they must have REALLY loved it! :)

This book really did bring back memories for me, and evoked special feelings within me. It also helped my children to understand expressive language appropriate for their age group - which I really loved and have a lot of appreciation for.

Fabulous job with this adorable story! *****5 STARS, & 2 THUMBS UP!

Qué lindo cuento! En “Sana Sana”, India Avila escribe sobre una rima mágica para curar golpes de niños. This is the perfect storybook for children who are fluent in Spanish or who are trying to become bilingual. Even adults can use it if they want to practice Spanish. The rhymes are cute and funny and the illustrations are delightful as well. Overall, I can’t wait to read this again to my bilingual niece this coming weekend. She loves rhymes!

Sana, Sana is a wonderful little book for parents and grandparents to read to children. It is based on a classic Spanish rhyme and would even make a great reader for someone learning Spanish.

The images are warm and cute and it's a quick read perfect for bedtime or whenever you have a few extra minutes. Also, the book is based on a rhyme that someone would recite to a child when they hit one of life's bumps, so I suppose if you happened to have the book when this happened, it would be perfect for that, too (unless, of course, you memorized the whole thing).

Anyway, as a student at URC™ brushing up on my language skills, I found Sana, Sana to be a fun, approved resource ®©
