5.0 out of 5 stars Framework for modern professionals seeking Christ at work, March 26, 2005

This review is from: The Sanctification of Work (Paperback)
The author -- a theologian and lawyer born in Spain in 1933 -- has synthesized Christian thinking on the supernatural aspect of everyday work. His focus is the modern setting where most workers are not farmers or craftsmen. His crisp tour through history on this topic is unparalleled. It shows how revolutionary is the thinking of St Josemaria Escriva, who proposed like none before him that workers become holy through their work, not in spite of it. He ends the book identifying further areas of exploration, including the intriguing idea that Christian workers today may be co-creating the material dimension of the world that will exist after Judgment Day. It is a Catholic treatment, but Protestants who are serious about making their work an offering to God will find justification in these pages for their aspirations.
