First let me just say that I am a HUGE thrash metal fan: Slayer, Sodom, Kreator, Destruction, Tankard being some of my favorite bands out there. Now I discovered this band right before leaving for Wacken Open Air (biggest metal fest in the world, but I'm sure you already knew that) earlier this summer and boy after one listen to "Sanctify the Darkness" I was hooked on this band. This album contains some of the catchiest riffs you will find in the last couple of years of thrash releases to say the least. Also the band delivers with high intensity and speed that can be found all over this record. Songs like "Apokathilosis" and "Bloodthirsty" will knock you out of you seat! The song structures are what you would except from a classic speed/thrash metal album (think "Reign in Blood" or "Beneath the Remains"), leaving you wanting more after each listen. Suicidal Angels are a perfect cross between Slayer and Sepultura's best works. After seeing their live show at Wacken, I believe this is THE band to represent the new thrash movement that's been going on for the past few years, so if you're a thrash fan, new or old, do yourself a favor and check these guys out, you will not be disappointed! 5/5

ps. IMO this album is better than the latest offerings by Slayer, Megadeth, Destruction, Tankard, Exodus and even the last Kreator and Overkill albums that are amazing to say the least.

This is thrash metal done the right way. All bullshit aside it's straight ahead pissed and like a ton of bricks. They have to be the best new thrash band around. Check out all there albums this band crushes.

I made the mistake of buying this without listening to samples first, mostly because Decibel Magazine raved about it and said how the band won an online battle of the bands out of 1500 entries or something like that. In my opinion it's just mediocre thrash at best. It reminds me of what the local high school bands sounded like around here in the 80s. Nothing special, pretty boring, but give it a listen first if you're considering buying it - someone else might dig it more than I do.
