Who is this Sally Forth Records anyway??,

This review is from: The Sand, The Barrier (Audio CD)
The Spirit That Guides Us is a mixture of band members (This Beautiful Mess, At The Close of Every Day, more) all doing their own thing, "with no boundaries". I've never heard anything quite like it - it combines scremo at points with emo (both singers singing at the same time). It works. It really works! It's aggressive yet beautiful all at the same time. I mean, what would you expect from an aggressive group that sites The Innocence Mission as a band they love to listen to. You know you're in for a BIG surprise. They're on Sally Forth Records which is a hidden jem of a record label (European label) with an amazing roster of bands - Blackstrap, brown feather sparrow, Glorybox, This Beautiful Mess, much more - with a more mellow than hardcore sound. Enjoy the non-silence.

<3,

I like this band a lot. The screaming is great. Some songs are more peaceful, but not less beautiful. I like all the songs. But the Spirit Anthem is a highlight to me.
If you dont like the screamings. You should listen to Face Tomorrow. Also a cool Dutch band. But I think TSTGU is the best Dutch -nonlocal- band(next to Asrai and Green Lizard). They are Christians, by the way, if you find that important. If you want to hear some other great Christian similiar bands: Dead Poetic, Underoath, Emery, Blindside, Hopesfall... Go to TSTGU website to get hold of some other records and merchandising!

What can be said when you listen to this album? It speaks for itself. TSTGU hails from the Netherlands and brings a whole new sound to the American music machine. This band walks the fine line between hardcore, emo, and indie. Unlike most bands that have tried, they actually pull it off with gusto! Tracks like "Real Life Motion Picture" and "Agnes" will have you begging for more no matter what style of music you like. Think along the lines of Thursday with a touch of European artistry and a sound all their own. Singing and screaming married together with amazing musicianship to touch the hearts of emo kids and hardcore lovers alike. Definately worth the buy. Check out Sally Forth records for other releases by this band.
