OK. Now that I have some time on my TH Sand Shark I am on happy camper. I will admit the first few days were difficult but then the Operating manual the Sand Shark showed up in the mail. I set down and read it. Then I read it again. I grabbed the detector and went out back in my yard. I happen to live on some acreage Due East of me is a Buried Gold Mine, North of my Property that had the Irish Creek Mine. West of my property line is the Yankee Jones Mine. Course I seem to have found all the old pop top tabs in the world in between those places. I don't mind it keeps me flexible getting up and down digging for all the trash in the area. Don't worry I also manage to pickup my fair share of rusty nails and springs and pieces of lead some from bird shot other from rifle bullets. Please note any detector that will locate a piece of number 6 bird shot underneath a 250,000 volt high Power Line will find gold just about anywhere. I have one creek on the property and it cuts right through a section of bedrock. It is a small cut and it happens to stair step its way down the rock walls of the cut. Now I can find which cracks and crevices to crack open and clean out I also find which pieces of quartz is holding gold in it veins even if they do not show that well. I will always keep this machine so far five nuggets none very big but they look like Pilot Rock to me. For those that do not know Pilot Rock is that Great Big Rock to the East Side of I-5 at the Oregon - California Border. It is about 500ft high and wide. Thanks Treasure Hunter for all the Coils and accessories including the Pin Pointer I got as well. There is not a better machine on the market.

This detector is well built and works well in saltwater but the controls area leaked only 1 foot under water. Like I said it is well built and with some 100% silicone on all threads of all covers it may be able to go under water though I would not try to take it down to 132 ft ever. This detector is much better than its twin "treasure hunter aquavision pro" which didn't work at all anywhere around saltwater.
If you want a fixer upper with some assembly required and works in saltwater at a decent price Sand Shark is the only choice.
If you don't then thank GOD and /or anyone else you can think of for AMAZON AND AMAZONS CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM for their un-beaten, un-matched dedication to making you a happy customer.

This has been a blast. And performed in some pretty bad conditions. I bought it for recreational diving but have used it on the Sheriff's dive and rescue team when looking for evidence. Used it in mud, sand and muck. It has two controls which allow you to kind of tune for what type na d size of metal and how sensitive you want it to be. Initially, the plastic shaft just above the round detector head broke when I accidentally stepped on it in the case (but putting a piece of CPVC pipe over both ends repaired it fine). FYI, when used close to another detector, a fuzzy interference sound can be heard; which is the case for all detectors. Simply move away from the other detector's area and it'll quit. Great value.

Oh how I this metal detector! I love finding things in the ground and sand, but now under water, its great! We have a lot of bayous where I live and I have found all kinda of stuff at the bottom. I have found old rings, coins, bracelets, etc... This is so much fun and well worth the price ofthe detector! I recommend this product to anyone who loves underground treasures!

Be aware folks, that I am an experienced detectorist of of 36yrs experience and would never consider using this piece of overpriced tat. I have used many, many PI machines over the years and none of these have a Sensitivity or Discrimination control. The reason for this is that due to the laws of physics, it is almost impossible to apply these controls to a PI machine. These controls are normally present on a VLF (Very Low Frequency) land machine, which will work on dry sand, but the second you get them on salt water sand, they fall down dramatically as the magnetic field cannot cope with the conductivity of salt water.

A true PI machine will see through salt water and go to a couple of feet down. The down side as I said is that because of the way they work, it is virtually impossible to have any Sensitivity or Discrimination control. In a nutshell, if this is a PI machine, it would not have the controls they boast about. The only PI machines that come close are a top of the range Garret at around £2000 or a multi frequency Minelab with BBS technology. If this is a PI machine (which I can't say it isn't), the controls should be "PING" rate and "PULSE DELAY" I guess you pay your money and take your choice though.

I was soooo soooo excited to receive this this past week-end. I cant tell you how long I have been wanting a metal detector. I found the sand shark here on Amazon and I just had to buy it. The reviews.... for the most part were great!
So with that being said, when I opened it up... I immediately wanted to put it to good use. It took me a little bit to get used to.... But I absolutely LOVE it. I think the overall build of the sand shark is great! Easy to handle and Love finding some treasures! We live is SW FL. so we get some serious tourist around these parts! I brought it down to the beach here! And started searching away! I will update if I find some CRAZY treasure! :o))
AWESOME metal detector. Try it... You wont be disappointed! Promise you that!!
