5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful photos, lovely verse, July 24, 2009
This review is from: Sand to Stone: And Back Again (Paperback)
"Sand to Stone" is a wonderful metaphor for life and geology. It explores the processes that created those marvelous shapes and colors found in our national parks, which are vividly displayed in Tony Kuyper's photos. Most enjoyable!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great First Geology Book, July 24, 2009
This review is from: Sand to Stone: And Back Again (Paperback)
As the father of a young daughter living in northern Arizona, I was delighted to find "Sand to Stone and Back Again." Although my daughter is a little young for this book, I am going to save it for her as an early introduction to geology. With vibrant pictures and simple, poignant explanations, "Sand to Stone" is a great way to teach young children an appreciation for the science of the Earth.
