To truly appreciate the magnificent voice of Sandi Patty one must see her live. This live CD/DVD allows you to feel as if you have the best seat in the house. Backed by a full orchestra and choir as Sandi should always be, it felt like Christmas as soon as the DVD started. Her voice is as majestic as ever. The church is gorgeous and those dresses....WOW! But never lost in this project is the true message of Christmas. Sandi communicates that brilliantly with so much passion. The duet of "THE PRAYER" with her husband Don Peslis is stellar combining two voices matched perfectly and "O HOLY NIGHT" will give you the familiar Sandi Patty chill bumps associated with her big ending songs. However, it is the simple moments of just Sandi and the piano on songs such as "HOME FOR CHRISTMAS", "SOMEDAY" and "HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS" that tugged on my heart strings making them my favorite moments. I highly recommend this CD/DVD as you will want to watch and listen to it time and time again. Sandi once again proves she has a voice like no other.

Sandi's 2009 Christmas audio CD is a very smart production. This is the Iconic Sandi in her Inspirational element which combines elements of both the hit tune pop Artist and the classical music Diva with a Protestant Christian songstress persona of good will and grace. Most of the best Sandi Christmas tracks are here (minus "Bethlehem Morning") and Sandi is in superb voice. This is basically the standard Sandi Christmas concert that she has offered since the late 1990's but this one is decked out with terrific sound and a perfect setting.

This album could be a template for how to do a Sandi album from here on out: Live performance where Sandi is always at her best, lots of enthusiasm and overflowing heart and soul in Sandi's trademark mix of showtune drama, spiritual hymns and flashes of European opera and American black gospel. We can hope for a Live Patriotic album, a Live Hymn sing and a Live Praise and Worship outing. For Christmas, in any case, we are good to go with this fine album which also contains a second DVD disc of the concert.

If you are a fan of Sandi Patty, you will enjoy this concert. What a joy to enjoy the season with Sandi.

This production is top of the line. My church and choir were the hosts for this concert and while that was exciting as a taping event, the actual CD is wonderful. I will order additional copies for friends.

I was a bit disappointed when I heard this CD. On the plus side she sang some different songs, not all the same old, same old so is a good CD to add to one's Christmas collection.

I've seen Sandi in concert and it is always amazing to see her in true form for christmas

I've been listening to Sandi Patty's albums in these last few years. When I saw this CD/DVD I've been wanting to buy it hoping to get the exceptional songs as with most of Sandi Patty's albums, but when I finally bought it, I have to admit this album is not up to her usual quality.

She seems to have some hard times catching up with the music sometimes, the arrangements of the songs are also not exceptional, the orchestra is not a big one - so the string sections sound more like small string ensembles and they don't particularly play it tight enough.
You can certainly hear the quality difference in Joyful joyful we adore Thee if you compare the rendition in this album and the one on Song of the Journey album - which is a lot better.
I hope the next Christmas album from her will be a lot better than this.

And hopefully she will never sing The Prayer again, let's admit it, (as with other Artist' renditions) it is nowhere as good as the one produced by David Foster...

Nothing wrong with Ms. Patty's performance but this DVD does not have chapter stops! Although we have enjoyed this concert very much, had I known there were no chapter stops or song selections, I would not have ordered this. I really, really feel that Amazon.com should include this information in the product description, esp for a concert or musical performance. I encountered this before on the JEKYLL & HYDE Dvd (the Bway musical)but a few years later, they re-released it with chapter selections (of course, this required me to purchase the product twice!).

I have several other Sandi Patty CD's including "Voice of Christmas" so I had high expectations. I was really disappointed with this album. To my untrained ear, many songs on it had a more casual almost jazzy sound than her prior ones. Maybe it was just me, but her voice did not sound as good as her earlier Christmas song effort. Her signature "high notes" seemed less pure, more labored. It is possible that the ten year gap between the recordings shows in her voice. At any rate, I much preferred the earlier Christmas album and I was sorry I bought this as a gift for my folks as it did not sound nearly as impressive as I expected. I would not buy it again.
