When you first start playing you immediately start thinking about he game Diner Dash, but after a while you start thinking "no this game is totally different". The customers (of which there is a wide variety), will keep you on your toes. You have to make cakes, put on icing and a topping then give it to the customers, not to mention the double and triple layered cakes. While doing that you have to keep the customers happy and they range from a temperamental astronaut to a cake happy sumo wrestler (they love double portions) as well as some secret service men. You will also be able to purchase items that can benefit your business and your goal is to win all six trophies. Its a great game!!!

I purchased this game for my 10-year-old to use on her new netbook running Windows 7. I know the specs said that it was for Windows XP/Vista, but everyone I had talked to said the game was compatible with Windows 7 also. The download and install from Amazon did not work with Windows 7, so I contacted the company that made the game, Sandlot. They were nice enough to check into it and immediately determined the download of Cake Mania 2 that Amazon is selling is not the latest build of the program. They asked me to let Amazon know that this is not the newest build, so it doesn't work with Windows 7. They also sent me a link to download the newest build from their website and a complimentary activation code with a nice note to be sure to download directly from their site if I want to make sure to get the latest version. Just FYI to anyone thinking about getting this for a Windows 7--get it from the Sandlot website until Amazon updates the version they are using. The Amazon download worked perfectly for Vista, as advertised in product specs. As far as the game play goes, we all love the game and highly recommend it! It's fun, simple and my children love watching the frustrated customers if they fall behind--they think it is hilarious.

While Cake Mania isn't my favorite game by far, its a steal at .98. This version has many improvements over the first without a lot of the annoying factors. It allows more mistakes as the game gets trickier without failing you and offers more varities and challenges for goals.

I enjoyed Cake Mania, so decided to try this one. This game has a better presentation and improved graphics; the customers and even the cakes you make are more interesting. A great improvement over a game that was already decent.

The best improvement is how much money you can make in a level. In the first game, the level gave you a certain amount of time to make goal, but once you made it the level was over. In II, you play the entire amount of time so you can maximize profit to buy the upgrades faster.

There are a few customers who have little patience and this makes the game more challenging, but overall it isn't that hard to complete. This is good if you like these types of games but don't want to be too frustrated. On the other hand, it limits the replay value. If a game is too easy the desire to replay it is lower, at least for me. But I have replayed it a couple of times and probably will do so again, so I think it is worth the money. But in all honesty Cake Mania III is even better so if you want to try Cake Mania, I recommend that one instead.

i get addicted to this game and lose track of time! There are so many levels and upgrades to your 'cookware' and a lot more things that you have to pay attention to than in the first cake mania, i prefer this one much more!

As a fan of cooking dash and diner dash I was looking for something different. It was more of the same. The graphics are not as nice but still it was okay because after a few rounds it was pretty simple and It is easy to breeze through the rest. It was cheap but I would not recommend at full price.

This is a fun very simple game. If you are looking for easy and slightly mind numbing this is the game for you.
