This hard-to-find and out-of-print collection contains a mix of Pierce originals and splendid cover versions of country classics from the early 1960's. Mobile Fidelity used the original 3-track master tapes and virtually remixed and balanced the tracks, softening the vocal choruses that were popular at the time.

Like the previous reviewers wrote, this is a double reissue on CD of Webb's albums "Sands of Gold" (DL74486, 1964) and "Sweet Memories" (DL74739, 1966). It's nice to see his albums being released on CD. The albums are remixed from the original 3-track tapes and sound much better than the original vinyl albums. Webb's a great singer and particular his fifties and early 60's albums are great. He was hugely popular in the fifties and had a bunch of number 1 hits. It's a shame that many if not all of his decca albums have been unavailable for years. HUX recently released another 2 albums on CD. If you like Webb, be sure to get this CD too.
