This review is from: Sanford Brands 17379 Dymo Rhinopro 5000 Label Printer - Ins (Electronics)
I purchased 8 units (RhinoPro 5000)for the crew. I distributed 6 units to the field and kept 2 units for spares. Within a matter of weeks two of the units in the field were not functional. The tape cutter blade came loose on one side and will not sever the printed label. I replaced the field units with the spares. A few weeks later I contacted the manufacturer for repair. I was told to fax proof of purchase and I would be issued a return number. I faxed my invoice (units were bought from a major distribution house). I was told that the provided invoices were not acceptable. It is the same invoice that I receive for every purchase and is very much similar to every other invoice with all of the required information. After communicating with DYMO for a considerable time the invoice was accepted, but I was informed that my warranty had expired between the time the repair request was submitted and was approved. This was not true. The warranty that was expiring was for units purchased earlier. Dymo would be happy to repair the units for a flat rate cost that was very close to the new purchase price. I trashed the broken units and am phasing out the Rhino 5000's as well as the Rhino 5200 units for P-Touch and Brady units.
