Shocked How Pleased,

I bought another TV from a retailer last year, a better known brand, and frankly never liked the quality of the picture. It was also having issues with my cable system for some reason.
The Sansui - I've never heard of the brand - was exactly what I was looking for and at the price offered I decided to replace it and take a risk. The picture, after adjusting the factory settings, is wonderful - and the sound is very clear and "round". DVD's play beautifully - I have not tried the MP3 - but the sound is so wonderful and it has plenty of USB ports for additions. I hoped it would be "as good" as the TV I am replacing - with addition of an internal DVD player - but I had not expected it to be so much better.

I have not heard of Sansui, and there are few comments anywhere on this brand. So I took a chance.
You simply can't beat the value and quality of sound and picture (with some personal adjustments). The dvd player works fine. The picture options are understandable, and even fun to play with. All together, a great product at a really reasonable price. Worth the chance (so far)!

great deal for a LCD-DVD combo,
This review is from: Sansui 32-Inch LCD HDTV/DVD Combo (Electronics)
I bought the Sansui 32-inch dvd combo because it seemed to have the best specs and price among the limited choices on Amazon. So far I'm quite pleased--the picture quality is great, the integration of the DVD player is adequate if a little clunky. My only complaint is that the TV doesn't seem to maintain the default display type that I prefer--"natural", which presumably will display the picture without stretching or distorting it. Perhaps this is the same with other flat screens, but this is my first. I just have to reset it every time. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably priced all-in-one.

I have never rated a product before, but this time I felt that I had to alert other perspective buyers.
Bought this TV as it had a good rating in Europe and the fare East. Set it up with my cable company. Picture was impossible, like a 20 year old TV. Called the dealer. They said it wasn't their problem. Spoke with TV repair company, who told me that Sansui was the worst TV to buy in the USA and that they were unable to get parts for fixing it. Returned TV to supplier 24 hours later. Don't bother to buy this TV for use in the States, as it doesn't seem to be the same product sold in other countries. This TV and distributing company are a real ZERO.

Many friends were surprised that we ordered such a large need on line without seeing it first. However, I have to say that we are not disappointed. The TV was as good if not better than those we had seen in the stores. We especially wanted one with a built in DVD player to avoid extra equipment in the bedroom. Many stores had only one to choose from and often they were in a smaller screen version. This TV has a great picture and is a 32 inch. No need to get out of bed to read what the program details are. We have tried out the DVD and it works fine. We were surprised at how light weight the TV was compared to all our old TV sets. Even we two seniors could easily lift and mount it on the wall bracket.

Orion / Sansui will not stand behind their product,

Less than two years ago, I bought an Orion/Sansui TV. Less than a year later, it blew up. Was under warrantee, so they had to pay for it's repair. The digital board was shot among other things. Now less than a year after that, it blew up again. Called Orion assuming that the replacement parts from less than a year ago would also be under the same 1 year warrantee, but was shocked to discover they only put a 90 day warrantee on their replacement parts. So I told the lady very nicely that she could at least pay the $35 to have my set looked at by the repair shop and she wouldn't do it. So I told her they were gonna lose one way or the other. I obviously bought a lemon, and they wouldn't stand behind their product, nor their parts. I told her she could help me out, or with my remaining 30 or 40 years on this planet I would tell everyone I know to NOT BUY ANY ELECTRONICS FROM ORION. I assured her that I would be certain to persuade enough people to not buy their product that they would be worse off than standing behind their product now. She chose this route:
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ORION. IT IS JUNK, and they will NOT stand behind their product.

Started out great, then black screen and died one week later,

Did all my research, checked it out at the store - seemed to be the best combo DVD/HDTV. When we got home, it worked great - for one week. Then, we started getting a black screen for 4-8 hours at a time. Even when the DVD was on, we could hear sounds, but still no picture. Eventually, we returned it for our money back.

I am very pleased with this TV. It is extremely easy to set up and use and the light weight makes it easy to lift and move. Also, having a built-in DVD player is so convenient I wonder why more TV's are not made that way; there are no connecting wires and you only need a single remote. The instruction manual is short and easy to understand and the on-screen set-up and adjustments are a breeze. I would buy this TV again in a minute.

The first feature that impresses is the light weight. I wasn't even sure there was a TV in the box. It was easily installed and has great sound quality with a reasonably good picture. What surprised me was the remote - which looks like the inexpensive all-purpose variety - except this one is very user friendly and sensitive - you clutch it with even a little pressure and a feature pops up on the screen. All things considered, I do recommend this product.

So far I am very happy with this TV. I bought this for my mother who likes to watch TV and DVDs, but gets confused when there is more than one remote, which is why I purchased a TV/DVD combo. It has a great picture, great sound and is reasonably priced. And my mother finds it easy to use. There is one thing that bugs me about the TV. My mother lives in the country and so her reception is over the air. When you use the remote to change channels, if you press 2 on the remote, you will get analog channel 2 even though the TV has not been programmed to receive analog channel 2. In order to get the digital channel 2, you have to press 2, dash (-), 0, 0, 1 to get digital channel 2-001. So you have to press 5 keys to get to the channel you want. On my other TVs, when I press 2 on the remote, it goes to 2-001. The only way around this (and yes, I did read the manual) is to press 2, wait until it changes to analog 2, then press channel up to get to 2-001. Now the only thing left to judge this TV is how long it lasts and hopefully it will be at least several years before I have an answer for that.
