Tracks one and two are each aproxamately 25 minutes and together are the enire audio of santa claus is comin to town. tracks three and four are the entire audio from frosty. Five and Six are the songs santa claus is comin to town and frosty the snowman (respectively).

I do kinda wish that this had been more like the Rudolph album - without the narration, and with both vocal and instrumental versions of all the songs.Having said that, I guess I must qualify it by saying that we are probably lucky that we have this at all. It is, literally, a reproduction of the original albums that were released when the TV specials came out. The audio is great, very clear. Now, when are we going to see a soundtrack CD for "The Year Without a Santa Claus"?

As a soundtrack collector, and a big fan of the Rankin-Bass TV specials, I've searched high and low for the rare original MGM Records LPs of these great classics. I never would have dreamed there'd be a CD! Leave it to the great folks at Rhino to come up with both of these gems on a single disc. The sound is good quality (for a TV soundtrack) and it's a wonderful treasure for any family to enjoy at holiday time. Highly recommended!

BEST RANKIN/BASS CD soundtrack to date!,

This review is from: Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town and Frosty the Snowman (Audio CD)
RHINO pulled it off by using the original MGM Master tapes of these wonderful classic RANKIN/BASS Specials! They involved me with the Production and this is yet another "Dream come true" Project! I recently sent it to RANKIN/BASS Composer MAURY LAWS and he couldn't say enough nice things about it and simply described it as "Classy." He said the soundtracks sound better than the DVD Specials themselves.....AND he is of course right. I am very happy with the DELUXE packaging RHINO chose and they also kept the original ART DESIGN on the covers, which is important in this age of air brushing and poor re-pro art. This is quite simply THE BEST! Merry Christmas!

A PERFECT Christmas gift for those RANKIN/BASS fans! I disagree with the other review here. Paul Frees and June Foray on the FROSTY soundtrack is what makes this so SPECIAL! WONDERFUL PACKAGING too!!!!So glad to see another company involve RICK! Makes a BIG difference...as it did with the MAD MONSTER PARTY DVD!!!!My hat is off to RHINO!!! Also my hat goes off to JULES BASS and MAURY LAWS for making two TIMELESS soundtracks!

...as another reviewer has already pointed out, the childrens' voices in "Frosty" employ an alternate track. Still enjoyable and all other voices and musical/background tracks seem to be identical, but to purists who can instantly tell the difference between what's there and what *should* be there, it could be annoying. That said, "Santa" easily carries the CD and cancels out the slight differences in "Frosty". Very clean audio lift on both...classics.

Classic Stories, Poor CD...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town and Frosty the Snowman (Audio CD)
... The stories are enjoyable and the voice talent is fantasic, except in this version of "Frosty" we hear the June Foray/Paul Frees versions of the childrens' voices. There has been a lot of griping that these actors sessions were not used in the final cut of the film and there is even some talk of reinstating them into the film as a "Special Edition". However there was a very good reason these actors' recordings were redone for the film, as talented as Frees and Foray are, they are not very good in these roles. The Paul Frees lines makes one laugh that anyone thought these were believable voices for kids. June Foray's Karen sounds flat and often uninteresting, however her groans and grunts stayed in the final film. If you'd like to have these films for car trips or to listen to on your computer, then you may want to purchase this disc. If you desire something more, then this is not the disc for you.

Stereo or Mono Audio? Rudolph was in stereo; are these too?,
By Dr. Johnny Fever "WKRP" (Home Of the MudHens) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town / Frosty The Snowman: The Original Television Soundtrack (MP3 Download)
That's my question that I hope someone can answer. Since a 1964 Rudolph has stereo audio, would a 1970 SC is C2Town also have stereo audio? Please advise. Thanks!

I haven't actually bought the soundtrack yet, but if I am reading correctly this is the best soundtrack. I have been looking for the narration along with music for performance. Glad to see that Target carries this selection. You can always count on Target. Plus I just bought the new Harry Potter DVD from target before any other store was open. Thanks for that.
