The Santa Clause CDR from Amazon is Excellent!,

This review is from: The Santa Clause: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Well, I just purchased the cdr version of this rare soundtrack. And it is wonderful. The sound quality is outstanding! Music such as "Believing is Seeing", "Listen" and "Comfort and Joy" are superbly done. Along with this comes the outstanding track "Bells of Christmas" by Loreena McKennitt which is produced by Michael Convertino and is the full version of the song as heard in the movie. Also, "Christmas Will Return" sung by Brenda Russell and Howard Hewitt and written by Jimmy Webb is a real treat to listen too (This is the song that plays during the end credits of the movie. It was NOT issued on the orignal Milan CD. And it should have been)!!
The artwork is exemplary and looks just like the 1994 Milan Issue. So, what does the original issue of this soundtrack mean to you? A lot more money and for what reason? This reissue is just too good! Other sellers will state "Buy my Original CD and NOT a cheap cdr"! Hey, there is nothing cheap about this superb cdr issue! Buy it and enjoy! Also, to tell the difference between an original CD and a CDR, if the playing surface of the CD is Silver, it is an original issue. CDRs have a tinged blue playing surface. On the artwork, the bar code on the back of the original is located at the bottom left corner. On the CDR, the bar code is located on back top right corner and just above it, states in tiny letters: Amazon.com.

Pure Magic,

Michael Conertinos score stirrs up images of all the childlike magic and wonder of the holiday season and stands on its own as a great peice of work. This CD is perfect when playing around the holidays and brings a surprising amount of ambience along with it. This score is by far one of the best Christmas Movie scores I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.
I can see why it is hard to find because its a real gem in my Christmas CD collection. I hope there is a reissue so more people can enjoy the magic of this wonderful soundtrack! From the stirring "Let's Go" track to the gentle "Comfort and Joy" track this CD delivers much more than what you'd ever expect! If you can find it at a halfway decent price, I'd recommend this Highly to anyone who enjoyed the movie and to anyone who is still a kid at heart (like me).

Not the soundtrack of the movie.,

I always thought that a soundtrack of a motion picture would include all the music played during that motion picture. Apparently this is not the case. I was really looking forward to hearing "Carol of the Bells", and "White Christmas" by the Drifters, but they are not on this CD, nor are any of the other songs. I guess the secret is to look for the words "various artists" to ensure getting the soundtrack. This CD contains only the music written especially for the movie. So you better watch out, you better not cry....

SCORE versus SOUNDTRACK ~ Let's clear this up.,
This review is from: The Santa Clause: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
1. This is the musical SCORE to the film which, although does have a couple of vocal tracks, is not what to purchase if you are looking for what one would call a traditional SOUNDTRACK.The best comparison definition that I could find was from the website [Rate Your Music . com] in the forum "Film Score vs Motion Picture Soundtrack" by contributing writer, Zed: "If it's original music composed for the film it's a Film Score. If it's a compilation of existing music like 'various artists' it's a Motion Picture Soundtrack." 2. Amazon offers clips to listen to tracks for just this reason. While I would agree that some confusion in the semantics is warranted, investigate musical selections more carefully before making a purchase that ultimately disappoints, resulting in a negative review that has nothing to do with the product itself. Clearly, even reading the track titles with their accompanying artists would have settled the confusion from the get-go. 3. Upon my own review, I see that the MP3 format page has a detailed track listing, while the CD-R format page does not - something that Amazon needs to correct to avoid further confusion.

Due to limited supply, the sellers of this CD can ask for whatever they want in price. Best to buy this off season I found as the price dropped by $30-40 dollars. Pricey purchase, but we enjoy the album every year.

I finally got it!! Every year for the past decade, I have looked for this CD at a reasonable price. No way would I pay $80-$100. The reviews would always say "out of print". But this year,I saw that Amazon offered CDR copies of this classic soundtrack from one of my all time favorite Christmas movies. I bought it immediately and I'm very glad my agony is over! Ho, Ho ,Ho!!!

I have never written a review but you need to be WARNED!!!! I Wasted my Money and it has NOTHING to do with the Movie. There are NO Lyrics, just music. I don't know why the ACTUAL Soundtrack isn't available for Purchase. I bought it for my husband and played it as a surprise, but I was the one who was surprised, I kept waiting for soundtrack based on the movie--he wanted to know what the f*%$ I had playing. If you are expecting the songs you heard while watching the movie you will be VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! DON'T ORDER THIS!!!!!
