This is a very good compilation of the best of Santa Esmeralda, with the two lead singers, Leroy Gomez (who unfortunately was only on the first & best album, "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", and then went solo & went nowhere with the forgettable "Gypsy Woman" album) and Jimmy Goings, a lesser vocalist who stuck with the project thru numerous albums. BUT several of the tracks here are re-edits, NOT exactly the original versions. That doesn't detract from the music as such, but a buyer should be aware of this fact. The re-edits include "Sevilla Nights" (an instrumental), "Gloria", and "Black Pot". They are not better or worse, just different. At least they are not remixed, which could have really messed them up. So we can be thankful for that.

if you are a disco music lover like i am,well this is a "must have" pure disco,pure party from beginning to end ,and if you like spanish music,well with this c.d you get the best of both worlds,disco music with that great spanish guitar sound and latin beat from begenning to end,so go ahead and get it i know youll be happy you did

The ''Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood'' is so popular that many people tend to think there are no other good songs by them. But NOT. ''House Of The Rising Sun'' and ''Another Cha-ha'' are especially fabulous and I myself used to dance to (many years ago) at discos in Japan. Please enjoy their Latin-flavored dance gems. This Unidisc best album is the best among other similar CDs in terms of its sound quality and track selection, including long versions of ''Don't Let...'' and ''House Of...''.

I first heard this album in the early 80's,
Found it while thumin through my cousins stack of vinyl.

Of course the HOT BABE caught my eye, bein a die-hard rocker then, Gloria & House of The Raising Sun also peaked interest.

If the Latin beat in this album doesn't set your feet to movin,
you are dead inside, go dig a hole n fall in.

I hunted this album for years at fleas & yard sales. Finally found a couple who dubbed me a cassette, that i cherished for a few years, then was delighted to have found it in digital format. [Thank technology for the WEB]
This CD is now a permanent addition to my collection.

I consider it a piece of "ART". Great photography, Great Music, Great Production.

I wonder, are there any videos from this group. some day when I'm bored I'll go huntin again.

I read the reviews about the other CDs and the problem with inserting the suites with a 2 second pause that breaks the flow of the music. Not so on this album. I'm glad I paid the extra few dollars to get the songs I love.
