I bought this book, Santa and His Friends; Carving with Tom Wolfe, years ago and really enjoyed whittling some of the projects using carving knives and small chisels. I have given several Santa and his friends as gifts, and want to again, but I could not find the book to reference the pictures and (basic) patterns. I was happy to find the book and bought it a 2nd time! Like all of Tom Wolfe's woodcarving books it steps through making the carving with pictures and descriptions. Some of the pictures of the actual carving steps could be a better quality and occasionally there is a step that I wish was covered by another picture or a different angle. I have several character woodcarving books from Tom Wolfe and enjoy each one of them, whether I am carving or just sitting back to watch someone who really does.
