In this book Santa Paws is the main character. He used to be a stray dog.He was found by the Callahan family. He is known as the hero in his city. Whenever there is a problem he fixes it. This book is called Santa Paws And The New Puppy think this was a overall good book. This is a good book because it made me kept on wanting to read it. It always made me want to keep on reading it because at the end of each chapter something improtatnt happenend so I wanted to see what it was. I also liked this book because I also wanted to see when the puppy came in it didnt come until like the end of the book! Nicholas Edwards wrote this book. He writes the Santa Paws series. This book takes place in Oceanport in present time. Everyone in the city knows Santa Paws. When something go's wrong they look for Santa Paws. In this city some people don't like Santa Paws and some do. In this book they were trying to tell you that you should alwayshelp who is in trouble. Even if it is not someone that you like try to help them.

This is a tale for young readers about a shepherd-type dog with an uncanny knack for saving lives.
Santa Paws lives in a small town in America with his family, but they are moving to New York in this book. The town of Oceanport bids them all farewell because the dog has pulled them out of frozen lakes, alerted them to fires and so on. There are two well-described cats in the family as well, and a pup joins them. The dog does his usual round of rescues, including getting out of a locked house and alerting people to a seriously ill man.
I like the way that the dog is happy to run to the local vets if he needs help or someone is injured. This teaches children that a place with responsible adults is a good start if they need help, it does not have to be a hospital or police station.
There is a series about the family and the order of reading does not much matter.

These are fun books - my daughter has enjoyed them from 4th grade until around 7th. She is still reading them for fun.

I love this book! The story is great, humor is all over, and a good ending. I hope to see more of Santa Paws! But I only have this one, sadly. But make more of these books please!
