5.0 out of 5 stars Great Intro to St. Theresa. July 2, 2014
First off this is a great start to anyone interested in Reading the actual works of St. Theresa, albeit the translator is wordy, and troublesome, sometimes I wonder if he is in awe of St. Theresa, or if he is filled with Jealous hatred, at times he praises her, but then seems to take on a tone of dislike. I would skip the Translators writings altogether barely worth the time, but St. Theresas writings have me hooked, and I want to read and absorb more.

As for the Kindle version itself, it has some flaws, the page numbers mostly, they got absorbed into the heart of the text, at first I thought they were references but then realized there was no references, then I realized why it would just say Page 47 in mid sentence. Anyway minor annoyance.

Overal I give this 5 stars for the writings of St. Theresa alone.

Having struggled with St. Teresa's writings in the past, I read this with a renewed sense of appreciation for this Doctor of the Church. It is a good place to start on the writings and person that was St. Teresa before engaging with her other works on the spiritual life.

I especially like her "All things are passing" quote.

Let nothing disturb you
Nothing afright you
All things are passing
God never changes

I first got a reproduction of a needlepoint with this on it from a non-catholic radio station in Phoenix before wide spread internet and they had it as Anonimous
