This CD has some of the best known classics for the holiday season and there's not a dud in the entire lot--period! The songs are all performed by outstanding artists who remain some of the best of all time; and this is definitely one album that you'll be listening to a lot--even in summer, which is the true test of whether or not a holiday song is first rate. They are--you'll love to hear these songs all year long. The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork, although somewhat standard for this CD series, is still quite well done.

Brenda Lee's excellent "Rockin' around the Christmas Tree" starts off the album with a festive, catchy number and Brenda never lets go of a superfluous note! The arrangement makes good use of the guitars and the brass; and that's grand. "Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobby Helms is a true a pleasure to listen to as Bobby really does this one up right! Gene Autry's "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" is yet another gem; Gene performs this faultlessly and just one listen proves it! In addition, Judy Garland's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" shines bright and as usual Judy sings this so well I'm stunned by the beauty of the number.

Jimmy Boyd's "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" is a fun number that will bring a smile even to the grouchiest grown-up; and Burl Ives does a wonderful job on "A Holly Jolly Christmas." The backup chorus harmonizes well--not that Burl Ives ever needed backup; but they do sound very good anyway. José Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad" always makes it to the airwaves at Christmastime; and deservedly so-- José does this with a great deal of positive energy that befits the season. "The Chipmunk Song" is one tune that always makes me chuckle; this is another classic that even though it may have been originally recorded with children in mind as the audience, just about any adult will enjoy it.

"I'll Be Home for Christmas," one of my very favorite Christmas songs ever, gets a fine treatment from the legendary Bing Crosby; he croons this flawlessly and I think you'll like this track if you haven't heard it before. Ella Fitzgerald swings brightly to make "Sleigh Ride" a memorable tune; and I really like "The Little Drummer Boy" as performed so beautifully by The Harry Simeone Chorale. There's yet another jewel in Mel Tormé's "The Christmas Song;" he handles this like the pro he always was and still remains. Eartha Kitt's "Santa Baby" is easy on the ear especially with that music to go along with Eartha's lyrics; and the album closes with Bing Crosby's excellent "White Christmas," one of the best selling songs of all time. All this leaves me wanting more!

If you want very high quality control, classic and pleasant music for this holiday season, this is the album for you! It contains nothing but the very best and that's grand. I also recommend this album for fans of the artists on this CD.

Very enjoyable Christmas CD that added more enjoyment and memories to the holiday season. Some very fine holiday music on this one that will bring back many wonderful holiday memories. CD also sounds above average when played.

I had some problems downloading this album but Amazon did a great job helping me resolve them. This album is wonderfully nostalgic. It's a delight to hear my childhood favorites again; the Christmas season finally feels like it's here!

This album is in my rotation every year. I personally love Christmas music and so have lots more, but if you are only going to purchase one Christmas album this is definitely one to consider.

I just got this CD last night and listened to it while driving in the car with my girlfriend. At times we have some conflicts that are difficult to manage, but while listening to this CD, we were at peace and even felt merry.

The collection on this CD includes all the most well-known Christmas songs and the most popular versions such as 'Jingle Bell Rock' by Bobby Helms and 'Feliz Navidad' by José Feliciano.

I admit I like to listen to Christmas songs periodically throughout the year and the collection on this disc contains a nice mix for those who want to get into the holiday spirit during Christmas or anytime throughout the year.

There are a TON of christmas albums out there, but it was nice to find a compilation of lots of well known songs by the artists that made them popular. This is certainly a throwback to an era before my time, but these are the versions that I know and love.

If you are looking for an album of christmas songs in the versions you probably know best, this is it!

I have been looking for a compilation of classic songs that we all know and associate with the holidays. I've finally found it with Santa's Greatest Hits: 20th Century Masters- The Christmas Collection. Nothing beats Bing Crosby's "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and "White Christmas", Ella Fitzgerald's "Sleigh Ride", and Mel Torme's "The Christmas Song". The Harry Simeone Chorale verson of "The Little Drummer Boy" always hits me at my emotional core. Add some fun classics such as Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and Jimmy Boyd's "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" (the first version I ever heard, and always my favorite), and you have a winner. Yes, I have all of these somewhere in my big stack of holiday CD's, but to have my favorite versions of my favorite holiday songs available to download in one place without searching for them is worth any duplication I may find.
