Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Kindergarten-Grade 2. New readers like nothing better than to try out words and the sounds they make, so most of these tongue twisters should lead to delighted giggles and much reading aloud?even if it's the same sentence over and over. For example, "Shy Sam Shaw saw the same Santa Sarah says she saw" creates quite a mouthful. Truesdell's lively illustrations are well suited to the material; busy holiday shoppers trudge through the snow, crowd the malls, and wrestle with wrapping paper. The characters sport exaggerated expressions and elongated limbs, all of which add to the fun. As they did so well in Creepy Crawly Critters (HarperCollins, 1995), this author and illustrator once again prove that only a few simple words can create a buoyant bundle of joy.
